Right forget the OP I dont think he is coming back. Does anyone know how much it would cost to start a rough shoot ? :good: And how many members you need ?

Im guessing members would need to have a dog as it would be walked up. I have a 8 month lab who has been introduced n excelled at hunting & flushing

Any ideas where to set one up ?

I guess land and permission are the first place to start. I did see an advert for the rights to an estate in monouth but the keepers cotaage was £800 PCM.....

Once there is some land you can start to think about introducing stock perhaps soemone with experience of syndicate organisation can help. I'll ask my mate how his farmers and friends shoot works.

SOme decent info here http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...howtopic=107875

Seems Chris isn't coming back but i may have an opportunity 200+ (40 acres of woodland) acres for a rough/syndicate game shoot just feelers at the moment. Anyone local experienced in the costs of running a small shoot? Anyone up for a challenge? Near J36 M4 so accessible for east and west south wales

I could set up something like this, but like most syndicates /groups or clubs theres always a few who are there on a regular basis to help out ( work parties/building pens ride cutting ) then a good percentage take the **** do very little BUT ALWAYS TURN UP ON SHOOT DAYS  This ****** me right off, the shoot i'm in at the moment is like this and theres a certain few who always do the graft and the others take the ****. And if the others would do their share, well our shoot would be twice as good.

Its not easy if you want results and not cheap. But with like minded guns its a good crack **** take

I'm interested as well. Almost a year has past since the original post was placed, and nothing has happened. I have'nt got a clue how to start up,or run a rough shoot syndicate, but will help out where and when needed.

Steve.

They will need a "tea boy" Steve- are you up for it mate :P:P:P
