Been to Hodnet today ( First Thursday of month shoot) just to get some practice in for North v South shoot - goodness knows I need the practice as I managed a paltry 89x100 so does anyone want to bung me a few quid to shoot for their side :)??

Good shooting there Dave :good: Are you doing the Cheshire Shield at the end of the month?

yes I was practicing for that as well -- must admit it was easier than usual - well I think it was - when you are on fire it always seems easy - in our group 86 was next highest but he shot with his S/S on first three stands and missed a load - changed back to his K gun and did well so I think he would have been well into 90's - in last 9 stands I dropped 9 and he dropped 7

Excellent day though - sunny and warm -- tea was **** - and meal was beef stew - I had two bowls so either i was hungry or it was nice.

I thought this was supposed to be a tough course.

There wouldn't have been all these scores in the 90's at the Victory shoot.

They're not going to put on a haybale skeet layout for this punch-up I hope

I hope so, i could do with a score in the 60's! :sly:

It's just that everybody keeps telling me how this ground throws the best clays in the country, and the course will blow my socks off, won't see targets like these at your local club blah blah blah

Starting to look like a walk in the park. You wouldn't get scores like these on a practice round at Worsley

I must say the Victory thingey was reasonably testing without being silly, but none of our lot got more than 80/81 or so  and that was Mr Potter and Son of Potter, if I remember rightly, and they know their onions :o .

I struggled to a 73 or 74 and I thought I shot quite well on the day

Yes, I hope they keep it testing too. Think i'll give Tom a ring. from Auntie :lol:

Yes Auntie, please do that, otherwise it'll be a "skeet in the trees" shoot which nobody wants.

Apart from one of those Northern E ffing Students..!!

I've averaged 93.33333 over the last 3 PW 100 birders, I don't want to shoot another one at Hodnet, 88 or 89 should be good enough. :sly:
