100milesaway
I really enjoyed the course and managed to hit at least 1 of everything on offer. Everything was very visable. Whoever set the course did a good job. It was the British Open after all and I for one went along looking to be tested, and I was, but as I managed to hit 2/3rds of the clays I was very happy. from Auntie. Chard
:( I'm back, you lucky people Moved house on Friday, what a ******* nightmare :look: I've had no phones or internet since the move because BT are wahankers Got my calls diverting to mobiles now, both business and private BT will hopefully get their act together one of these weeks and connect us a few phone lines Anni helped me move, he was a diamond and I'm not sure what we'd have done without him. After 3 days of humping furniture on and off Anni's van, I think we were a bit silly to enter the British Open at Doveridge. I know I was totally shagged and very stressed about having my business completely cut off from my customers for an unknown period, and I'm sure Anni was knackered too. Needless to say, neither of us did it justice. I was just glad to get home again I managed an astounding 53 and Anni managed 58. We were on different squads, so only found out at the end that we were both ****. I thought it was a clever course, and I would like to have shot it in different circumstances. The white rabbit stand was just silly, but everything else was doable

Emmsy
well my opinion is the british open was utter ****. layout was boring, unimaginative and pretty stupid in places. they were lucky with the weather cus if it had started blowing a bit like today then they would have been right ****. everything was killable yes i agree but virtually all were dead birds nothing under power and all edge on and dropping or hanging in the air. rabbit was indeed a lottery, i hit first one but all the rest seemed to turn the other way. 90% of my misses were infront. if you like rifleing every target then this was the shoot for you, if on the otherhand you like to swing the gun and see some lead then you were stuffed. beretta i honestly dont think you would have liked it, it certainly wasnt no hodnet targets! i think the ground is good, just needs someone with some ability to set up! MC
If you lot (The elite) had got yourself to JJ's once in a while instead of constantly slagging it off you would have found the floppers and droppers a piece of ****. And then perhaps when of you would now be British Champion. Strange how the "EASY" birds catch people out isn't it? Oh well there is always next year, there will be less competition in the Veteran class, Hey Cat?
Paul223
well shot folks Jay came about 5th in B class but to be fair he was shooting a different shell as I couldn't get his normal shell (gamebore supercomp) Rob, Ian should have some of those smi's in 20 for you (jay) to try, see what you think
Chard
That's fantastic shooting nick well done I decided to take a trip down to the registered shoot at shugborough today. Seeing as I was on my own I decided to have a look round and start on an easy stand, my mistake as I dropped 5 on probably one of the easiest stands there . I made up for it by only dropping one on the next six stands I shot. I thought I was on for a good score till the last stand of the day a 5 pair stand, there was a long queue and I lost all concentration by the time I shot it & dropped 6. So my first and last stands cost me 11. Ended up with 80 and was 3rd when I left. Good arrows, Timps Just pop my 10% in the post, there's a good chap

Ha Ha, very funny, I'll have you know I've got nearly 6 years to go before I'm in the Veterans at English Sporting, by which time you'll be in the Super Vets. Anybody that's any good at clays has done the JJ's thing, they've queued up alongside the camo clad, cartridge belt wearing, uninsured numpties who always forget to take the safety catch off and take 5 minutes to shoot 5 pairs. Yes, we've all been there, but some of us want to achieve a bit more. Cat. Edited September 7, 2010 by Catamong

Perhaps if you paid more attention to all clay shoots instead of just the 75 yard crossing midis you would have scored higher in the British open and maybe achieved a little more. And if achieving a little more means moaning like a load of old women because you can't hit the "EASY STUFF" then I'll stay where I am thanks. Oh yes and obviously everyone who doesn't shoot at registered shoots is uninsured, it goes with the territory.

Chard
We went to Llandegla/Fauxdegla today to have a go at this All Round lark I don't normally shoot these tart's disciplines, but after we'd shot 25 DTL, 25 Trap and 25 Skeet and I'd scored 20-something on each of them, I thought I was on for a good'un Only my own discipline left, ESP. Bound to do OK on that I thought. **** off 14 - ******* 14/25 on ESP. What the **** is that all about? Scores on the doors: Beretta - 93 :look: Leading when we left (by a long way). Anni - 79 :look: Good shooting chap. Also cocked up the ESP. It wasn't easy. Chard - 78 Whiskymac - 72 Nicely done Scott. Florian - 40 something Jet lag flying in from Sweden 2 hours before. The lengths some people go to, to shoot a few clays Met KenG there too. Can't remember what he got, but it was good - in the 80's Good to meet Florian and KenG for the first time.
