Marcus
Just had a look on the net Def a dog - canine paw prints will display sharper outer edges on the heel pad. Additionally, the bottom line of the heel pad will reveal a double hump, called a "lobe." Just as in your picture.

njc110381
I was expecting something fun then! I'm well into my big cats but they don't have claw marks. I've got loads of them around my permission which would point me towards Lurcher/Greyhound type thing, a guy living near my fields has several
Frenchieboy
Sorry Guys, you're all wrong! It's definitely a BIG CAT! Everyone knows there are hundreds roaming the countryside, I've seen two myself since Christmas, one was disguised as a labrador and the other had mutated to what looks like a GSD! (But I'm no big cat expert and I had been on the pop for a few days!) Edited January 16, 2010 by Frenchieboy

Bleeh
They look like otter prints to me, because they are sort of one sided to aid swimming Is that just a random guess? - Otters have 5 toes too, and if anything look closer to badgers footprints.
