Microchipped foxes

Microchips don't track them, my dogs got one in it and one things for sure the RSPCA / CIA or whoever aren't tracking her, purely means in theory were it to end up back in a rescue sanctuary then they could identify it. As for shooting one you'd never know it was chipped unless you Xrayed it or had a chip reader

" Introduced foxes are of course a perennial problem, and farmers are sometimes shocked to find that foxes which have been captured have actually been micro-chipped" Page 5 EDP2 29-01-10

Where would you stand if you shot a microchipped one?

Beretta

Where would you stand if you shot a microchipped one?

how would i know it had been chipped.

If a group of folk want to spend there own money getting them chipped then good luck to em,

but it dont give the foxes any more privileges than non chipped ones.

or not round here it dont.

No I am with Beretta28g, I reckon that the government pays spys to track all the chipped foxes on a big screen. (Probably in a secret volcano.)

They can probably see the fookers gathering around our rubbish on a Monday night

I found one once dead on the side of the road by Bristol Airport with a bl***y great collar on it and a battery pack the size of a brick.

I opened the pack and inside was a note asking me to return the collar to Bristol University, not the battery because of the weight, giving details of when and where the fox was found and under what circumstances.

I did, and had a very nice letter from some Professor that had released it and it's mate two months previous from the main bus station in Bristol.

Apparently the Vixen didn't make much progress, got ran over not far from town within three days but this old boy had been tracked as a right 'wanderer' until the battery died then it got ran over trying to get to the airport for a cheap flight to Spain

On the other hand it could have been shot and dumped, I didn't see any sign of damage but I was only interestedin the collar really :P

You should have posted the collar to a friend in Scotland and asked them to post it back to Bristol University. That would have given the Bristol University folk something to think about!

i dont think these profs no the damage they could be doing.in the city by the bus station they would of had easy pickings all the burgers they could eat.they catch them and release into the wild where they have proberly never even seen a chicken thats not covered in spicy coating and deep fried to go on the rampage in someones coup or phesant pen.perhaps the profs should be taged and dumped in a new enviro and see how they cope.

i'm probably wrong but i always thought that if it was injured and it got treated you couldn't release them and they was put in a sanctuary not released as they are a pest, but say if you caught a fox in a trap that was not injured you could release it into a safe area. not sure where i heard it but my point is why would a vet chip a fox that shouldn't be released if what i've heard is true . not that i would release it as generally if you've put a trap out its because you want rid of it

Wow, Even better if I'd posted the collar to a mate in Spain or somewhere else exotic :) That would certainly have got them wondering

I think the Foxes released were originally road casualties and once healed or mended were released in the town environment to see how they reacted.

It might have been a Government long term policy to use Foxes to clear the streets of discarded 'Take aways' and if they could get them to clear the cardboard as well, to make their lairs, they would do away with dustmen and cut our council tax :good: yeah right :good:

I have read that down south you can't get fish 'n chips with gravy, but they can't be that uncivilised, surely :good::lol:

Don

You can get mushy peas down here, but it has taken a long time to arrive.

Some times even haggis appears in the shops but it's that battery reared type, not the genuine free range sort.

I personally wouldn't eat a fox with micro chips, chunky chips or even oven chips.

It would take a whole lot of onion gravy to disguise the smell :good:

But there again, it takes all kinds.

Why ruin it with gravy? Loads of salt and a bowlful of ketchup is what you want. None of that broon sauce either.

One of my customers had lived in Norway, where the large cats(Linx?) are tagged and tracked, like the Red Kites over here, I presume. Someone shot one, so they dropped it off a bridge onto a goods train as it passed underneath!

a good hot bonfire is a good option as well
