Pepe
I always pick mine up. If I find any on my walks I also pick them up. The same happens with rubbish on the roads, who keeps throwing all their **** out of their car window?

JonnyR
Some people just live like pigs. Mate of mine, when we were at Uni, once pulled over on a A road and made his girlfriend walk the half mile back up the verge to pick up the sweet wrapper she had just thrown out of the window. ;-) Needless to say they weren't an item much after that and today his kids wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. RC45
My kids never throw rubbish out the car. In fact, I always make a point of them clearing the table at McDonalds. I don't let them leave it for the staff to clean it for them. Phil

Your mates a star, man after my own heart ... Always pick mine up, and anyone elses I see incase anyone thinks there mine. This is one of my pet hates , I regularly see MD or KFC wrappers up to 15 miles from the nearest seller of that 'food'

JonnyR
I remember someone commenting in the National Press about the total lack of litter at the CLA game fair a couple of years ago. Then I compared it to the site of the Reading Festival which literally looked like an open landfill site. As a mate of mine keeps saying, 'You can't educate pork'! Rizzini
Never leave any fired carts behind. What good would i be doing then ? and doesn't really represent a good country man does it.
Bluebarrels
always pick my spent carts up and anything else around, try and leave as if ive never been there when i had a semi (gun) could never get all the spent shells in the summer months due to thick cover, but once the cover had died back in the autumn i would go round and pick up all the carts then works for me BB

garymc
Not having a semi-auto, but thinking of getting one, I have a question on this... Does using a semi-auto cause some people a pain re picking up fired cartridges? I would love to get one, but in some scenarios like shooting out of a boat (which I do quite a bit) I can't see this working as the carts would probably eject into the water? anser2
When ever possible i pick up my spent shells , but there are times when you cant find them all. My Browning hunter semi auto chucks them up to 30 feet away makeing it hard to find them all in long grass\hedges and almost impossible in the dark when wildfowling. steve_b_wales
Regarding Semi-auto's ejecting empty shells all over the place, I remember years ago, there was something you could attach to your shotgun that deflected the shell to the ground. I recall a person on a DTL clay pigeon shoot using one. Not sure if they are still available. I too, always pick up my cartridges.
pmiddy
I use a semi auto also the cartridges fly all over the place so i have made a spent magnet it works great i use an old hide pole which snapped at the footplate and fixed a magnet to the bottom of it and i can pick up those ones that have flown into the hedge grow . If we didnt pick the cartriges up we could loose our permission as the gamekeeper tells us the land owner doesnt want cartridges all over the place Cheers paul
