tomhw100
HI chaps Just wondering... depends on the situation for me some times i like hunting alone -especially stalking or sometimes i like company-decoying and lamping. Tom
bigstevouk
Going alone is ok, but i find going in pairs is better as you have a spotter/lamper and someone to have a chat to...
monkeymagic1969
I shoot alone quite a bit ( just about to go out), but also like to have a bit of company sometimes as I'm quite sociable on the odd day here and there
TonySmith
I dont get much chance with the 'Kid' in tow, but now and again he goes to his Nans, and I can have a peacefull time stalking on my permission. ATB Tony
Cranfield
You really need to specify which branch of shooting you are referring to. I would imagine a days driven game shooting on your own would be a bit strange, but then you wouldn't want 10-12 other guns in a hide with you. MM
im scared of the dark, so its always with someone
Cosd
Mainly decoying, there's nothing like being in a hide with a buddy on a busy day! But don't mind being alone as well, especially when there's hardly anything about, then you don't have to share the shots
deputy dog
If i'm out with my rifle. I tend to like my own company. Lot more quite and i dont have to worry where my mate is if we split up. But if out with my shotgun and dog i usually go out with my best mate. We been shooting together for years and we pretty much got the very same permissions to go on. Its nice being out in the field with a friend having a good day, working the hedge for rabbits. Or doubling up when out on the pigeons/ crows. Its a lot to be said for good company on a good day. Or a bad day for that fact.
Colster
Most of my shooting is 4x4 lamping or ferreting so tends to be me and a mate and a dog or two. I have a field near me though that's great for those "oh look I have a couple of hours to kill" moments. I can just chuck the gun in the car and be on there and shooting 5 minutes later. Lamping on your own is rewarding/frustrating in equal measure.

Imperfection
I prefer being on my own. After the hustle and bustle of work-its nice to have some solitude.
sitsinhedges
Friends are essential for clayshooting but up the fields I must admit, when there's not a lot of shots to be had especially, it's much easier to just have to look after yourself. I know pretty much where it is and isn't safe to shoot on my patch and I also tend to go on the spur of the moment.
albob
shoot a lot on my own but, company is good. both have good qualities for the type of shooting i do. al
libs
Its nice to have someone to throw banter at, but then walking hedge rows on your own can be very difficult as I find I focus so much more alone and it wears me out more than just a stroll would. But then again its gets boring on your own if its a slow day! Not one single answer for this one I think.
berettaman
Have tried two in a hide but it is damn frustrating when the person you are with couldnt hit a barn door with a blunderbus and all your hard work is scuppered as you see all your potential pigeon pies flying away totally unscathed
Popgun
I go with a mate and look round the estate then we split up and go to differant fields to decoy just me and my cocker in the hide,i allways go wildfowling alone with the cocker and i use a single punt for my puntgunning, but i do a bit of driven game shooting and like the company. Pepe
I do not have my own permision but shoot in the Estate I beat on. The rest of the beaters are not as committed as I am or only want to shoot for a couple of hours. Hence, I end up shooting on my own. kennyboy30
:o i dont mind two in a hide but safety is paramount i only take someone i know and trust and who is safe i am a lefty so i take the right side of the hide i only take birds to my right at a 45 degree angle the same with my counterpart on my left as they are right handed i would not be happy with 2 people shooting off the same shoulder :o
