suggs
being a clay basher myself and having noticed some recent pics/articles on some major pigeon kills 2-300 in a day i was wondering what you do with all the body's, i gather its not the done thing to just leave them were they drop and rightly so, so what happens to them. only so many pies you can make.. jonevo
I only shoot enough that I can eat, or place in my freezer, and can afford to shoot,300 pigeons is far too many for me to carry, leave some for another day or the next shooter. stubby
breast them all, remove wings and roughly pluck all the feathers, yes it can be a pain when doing loads, but if Im shooting them, it aint going to waste, breasts are given either fresh or frozen to friends who eat pigeon, carcass are kept for the ferts

M ROBSON
Those that aren't taken home by the clients are sold to the game dealer. We have a registered chiller and I have all the game hygene certs. Each batch of Pigeons is documented with date/place shot/storage temp/ID number...etc. The game dealer comes to pick up twice a week during our busy periods. We get 35p a bird, a local 5 star restaurant who is supplied by our dealer has pigeon breast starters for £9!!! 2sledge, what i dont sell or eat i feed to my owls How do you avoid them eating a pellet, and therefore poisoning? Cheers, Mark. Edited September 7, 2010 by M ROBSON
tignme
Game dealer is only 5 mins away, pays 35 pence eventually,a friend has put me on to a falconer who pays 50 pence frozen. I / we eat loads and the two pot lickers never refuse them. Oh and the odd one for charlie.
Albertan_J
Never quite shoot enough for the game dealer so normally dish them out between friends and breast the rest for the freezer. Sometimes a few are left to bait charlie.

Guest
I have two game dealers one of which i get 30p a pigeon for and not to forget my hungry friends!
manicmark
I was interested to read what some of you guys do with your birds. I like many used to sell them to the gamedealer, I used to get 50p per bird. This would then be changed back into cartridges for the wildfowling season and keep my stock for pigeon cartridges as well. I do know of some guys that only shot the pigeons purely to sell and try and make money. This was always a bad idea as they were constantly thinking must make this shot its worth 50p. This i beleive took some of the enjoyment out as you would never try and take the harder shots for fear of missing. Its only my opinion though Regards Mark
danccooke
Breast them and eat them give them table ready to friends.
