MC
This is rich coming from the guy who systematically lambasts anybody on here that travels large distances to shoot decent targets and recoils in horror at the suggestion of driving beyond the Essex border to shoot clays. I travel frequently to shoot - 75 miles would be 'local', but 185 is too far to travel in day (for a 9-10am start, anyway). It gets too pricy if overnight stays are involved. If it were in the Autumn or Winter it would be fine, but there are a lot of shoots on around May/June and I'll need to budget accordingly. Sporting Targets is a good ground, but like Cat says, it's basically a flat field with some small embankments dumped in it. It will be nowhere near Hodnet for target quality. I'm sure everyone that goes will have a great time though and depending on the charity chosen, I will probably still make a donation Have you not heard of car sharing? How about sharing a room with someone else? Or are you afraid that mummy won't be there to stuck you and teddy in? Going by your (Northern) logic if 185 miles is too far then my 215 mile trip last year was way too far so can I have my money back as I shouldn't really been there. I am sorry to all the supporter of this charity shoot, but this has to be said. IT IS A BLOODY CHARITY SHOOT THAT CANNOT BE HELD IN YOUR BACK GARDEN SO GET OVER YOURSELVES AND TRAVEL THE DISTANCE. Last year there were 4 of us travel up in the same car, drove over 430 miles and shared the cost. It was less than £20. Get yourselves organised, book a room sort the cars out and come and shoot. If not then stop whinging about how far it is.
RC45
Right, I am going to do it this time. Last year things were tight and apart from being a $*** shot I gave it a miss. I don't live too far from Risely, so if anyone wants to doss on the sofa, I could probably put four up, I can also pickup from the train station if it helps. MC, can I have another tee shirt please (Orange & Large). Phil
Markio
Now i will add my thoughts I see its been renamed charity shoot , no longer north v south charity shoot( should be south v south publicity shoot ) Don't mind the drive but i would bet this ground is within an hours drive for Teal not the case for the likes of Tam :yp: why not make it within the m25 then it would be central Where's the next one , Glasgow wonder how that would go down But last years was well into the North for a lot of people, it just seems you lot have the hump because it'll mean a trip down south instead of on your 'relative' door step. And Mr & Mrs Tam will loose out and i sympathise with that, but maybe the Cornish guys will be at an advantage this year where as they had a hard time last year? Horses for courses and all that. It's not about being central in the UK, but central to the shooting demographic of the PW members likely to attend, the suggestion of Sheffield for example was laughable and meant an easy trip you for you lazy ****. 3 Hours in the car from Leeds and Manc and you're all whimpering like a bunch of girls? Hard Northerners? Yeah get real.

canthitathing
For me it's only another 20 miles further than Hodnet (120 miles) so it makes no difference to me. If I can make it I'll be there to embarrass myself Anyway, it's a day out from luuurrrrrvly Rotherham
Paddy Galore!
Depending on the charity i'll have a bash at this one. Still over 2 hrs away, any other norfolk lads want to car share? or i can put a few chairs in the back of the van and take you lot up.

I was going to do them but it was too far for me to drive to the printers. I did try whinging at the printers hoping they would move their business nearer to my house but they wouldn't Edited January 16, 2011 by MC

MC
oh boy another bunfight... Not really a bunfight, more of a northerers whinge. Maybe that is why it was renamed PW charity shoot as Teal knew the northerners wouldn't turn up. Still I suppose it is their way of ensuring they don't get beaten. Do we have a clucking chicken smilie?

Do we have a clucking chicken smilie? No but we do need a yawning one I'm sure that there'll be plenty of representatives from the North - i'm certainly planning on making it so long as its not on 21st May. WRX_Soldier
Can do any of these dates . I had a briliant time last year. Met some nice people and won some prizes in the raffle, also raised some money for charity . I had a two hour drive each way last year, Risley is a little closer for me this year .
