neil smith
The PSG boys were in the squad in front of us - all we could here was "hut hut hut hut" and "whose on point" followed up with a commando roll or two See you there Mung ! shaun4860
I wasn't aware anyone is being asked to attend, my understanding is that attendance is purely voluntary. I wonder if the CLA get this much bitching each time they move the game fair from North to South They bloody well should!! When it was cancelled a few years ago, rather than bump everyone back a year, the north lost out meaning we dont get a CLA gamefair for 8...yes 8 years.... rant over..... :yp: All calm again now.... shaun
Dunkield
There's a fine line between banter and **** and this crossed the line a long time ago. I've seen all the **** on Facebook, talking about Northern c**** and that isn't banter. We keep being told about how the best bit is getting off your face the night before and it's better than the shoot, so why isn't this just a charity pub crawl? Some of us have been round the block a time or two and don't get over-excited by the prospect of a couple of shandys. The problem is, the original plan was for it not to be North/South shoot, but that was criticised as there was no "competitive element" and it would "kill it stone dead" etc etc. So the event has been re-instated as a North/South competition with the resultant 'banter' Damned if you do, damned if you don't springs to mind. If people want to meet up the night before for a few drinks to socialise with other like minded folk why shouldn't they? you could argue that just shooting a few clays isn't overly exciting. But that is not what the event is about, it is about having a good time, meeting up with other members and doing something good for a charity in the process. timps
Well without the north V south I personally think it would have killed it stone dead. But I believe the problem is some people want it as a meet up and get drunk and some want to shoot it semi/very competitively. It sits uneasy with some that the readymade excuse we would have shot better / you only beat me because last night I had....... and because of this don’t want to travel / stay over but would attend if closer & less cost. I know with my deviant social life it’s a nice opportunity to stay sober one weekend. :yp: I feel it is a good idea to move it around the country for fairness, however Hodnet gave us a good turn out and quite balanced teams 38 north 36 south if Sporting Targets achieves the same or better then it was a good choice, if not then the idea of dropping the north V south in the first place would have been the right idea. I am going to attend but can understand why others won’t.

Mungler
I genuinely don't know who from the South sulked. All the reports I heard were "great day, good crack, good ground and good targets". Well, the day's set. If your coming, come, if not, don't. Tis no more complicated than that. And now for the massive row over the charity

Plenty of Champers, followed by a lot of floppers and droopers Indeed they do. In fact a very good friend of mine used to do all the wedding arrangements there, until she moved to Malaysia about 5 years ago. She had a pair of droopers too. Anyway, back on topic, I'm going again. Where is it? How much? Which charity?
majordisorder
I think its only fair a northern charity gets the pennies this year saves all the dosh going south......tin hat on :yp: I too vote for a completely Northern charity of Northern choosing. That way: 1. there will be less bleeting 2. they will have to come to support their charity 3. the South can prove that they exclusively occupy the moral high ground Job jobbed. What about a monkey rescue centre based in the North? Hmmmmmm northern charity, how about Scotland? Us southerners have been supporting you lot for years
