officerdibble777
is there any benefit to having a mid bead ? Both my guns don't have one and I do not too bad,but would I do better with one? john Edited March 23, 2011 by officerdibble777
Gordon R
First thing I do is remove any midi bead. Some may like them - I don't. Nor do I see any value in them.
mickmep
quite like them, my supersport and sx3 have them and i find they're good for checking your mount. saying that i shoot as well with my A400 which doesn't have one. personally wouldn't go to the trouble of having one fitted on any of mine that dont have them. Batch
My Miroku has a mid bead and have been considering getting it removed and replacing the muzzle bead with an easy hit or equivalent. I find the mid bead to be too much of a distraction, especially when game shooting, as you try to line the beads up to make the neat 8 rather than concentrating on the target!! My Maxus came with an easyhit type bead, and although I try not to use the bead, this one is present in your peripheral vision and I find helps with lead on your targets. Paddy Galore!
If the gun truly fits you then you shouldn 't need one, they only really help if you're a learnin to shoot, or gun fit is a bit out as it helps line up the barrel with your eye. 1in9
I used to shoot a Winchester 101 which had them a mid bead and found it distracting so removed it, unnecessary clutter in the sight picture. As mentioned, if your mounting properly there seems little point.
Mike525steel
I also find them distracting It makes me look at the barrel to much an not at the bird However you do see a lot of them on the range
Scully
Gram 71 has got it spot on.If you're aware of any bead( mid or muzzle)when you're actually shooting, then you're not concentrating on your target,or your gun doesn't fit you. Salop Matt
I have considered getting one fitted on the basis that I dont shotgun shoot regularly so I have developed a tendancy to cant the gun when i mount it, hopefully a mid bead would help me with my mount ! Emmsy
no bead front or mid for me, cant see the point
seeker
just looked in the safe ... neither gun has a bead front - mid - rear ! ... hadn't noticed. Oh well it explains something ? how does a mid bead stop kant ? I believe the trap/trench shooters use it as a pat of their set-up routine
