Not looked around here for any permissions, for the £20 one could get a insight into it and then decide if its worth looking into getting permissions. I realise that some people will not approve, i accept that, however, most people will never have the chance to shoot on a "Grand country shoot" the seat of an Earl, and all that sort of thing. This is my living, at the moment i guide deer stalkers, i try my hardest to give a memorable days shooting, lets face it if you have a good day, hopefully you will want to come back! Regards It's a cracking idea for lots of people, those who dont have permissions. those who want to take the step into hunting and even those who want to shoot different area's and meet like minded folk. If I only had time to shoot a few times a year or was finding it impossible to find my own permissions, I'd take up your offer to 'keep my hand in'. And this , "I wouldn't pay to shoot someone elses vermin." Well what would you pay for then ? A round of golf ? A round of clays ? A football match ? All of those are only there to make money, so what is the problem ? I suspect you'll have plenty of takers to be honest, but you'll always get people who will knock it. A couple of points that have been raised: Insurance, yes i have guided stalking insurance which costs £400 a year, which i have to have for the deer stalking. The point of the exercise is not for you to come and "pay to shoot my vermin", i am trying to offer a good entertaining day out in a beautiful place, for the price of a saturday night out. The idea of "plinking", when we are hunting with our rifles, i dont care if its a .177 or a .300 win mag we are serious about what we do, the" one shot, one kill" sounds overly dramatic and pretentious, but it is a mantra we all try to follow. I do not have a wage from an employer, then have this to supplement my pay, being self employed is a mugs game really, but the freedom is hard to give up. regards. Yep, As Frenchieboy says.... a great offer, and tho I have plenty ground to shoot, would def take you up on it..I used to have my own boat for sea angling, but still went on charters..the craic, socialising and seeing other places is all part of ( IMHO ) our sport.. Dave-g has the right idea i think, dont sell to one person, sell as a package. £100 per day for up to 4 people. that way your clients have the choice if they wish to come alone or as a group of mates. you could take contact details for the single shooter and then when you have enough for a day then pull them together. I'd definately vote to keep it at ££££ per person & not a blanket group rate as I'm sure there are shooters like myself who can't put together a team for a day & would welcome the chance to shoot with new "friends". Sounds like a cheap day out in beautiful woodland setting/countryside. This is not a case of me charging folk to shoot my corvids etc. I want to give blokes with poor or no permissions a chance to hunt on a beautiful Estate as a guest with total freedom, sometimes, the lucky ones of us who have good land to hunt on forget what its like to be denied the chance.
