bra wires and washing machines

AAAAGGGGHHH they drive me mad

with a mrs and 2 daughters , theres always one getting stuck in the washer .

usually i can retrieve them , but this time i cant see it , only hear the bl**dy thing as the washer screetches round on fast spin

so heres my question -- anyone here know how do you get in there , the space between the drum and the outer caseing .

is it possible to get at via the door or removing rubbers :hmm: .

its a hotpoint aquaries by the way .

thanks

Stripping it down depends on its age-newer machines have non-replaceable bearings and the entire drum has to be replaced should a fault occur.

If you do need to replace the drum keep the old one as they make excellent fire baskets / patio heaters when mounted on a support.

good news mate you dont have to take your drum out or dismantle your machine my missus does it on a near monthly basis and she has become a master at wire retrieval what you need is a strong magnet the technique is to locate the wire with the magnet by rotating the drum back and forth .once it has picked up wire try to tease it through one of the drainage holes in the drum it can take some time though hope this helps ,,chris,,

For cryin' out loud! You shouldn't wash bra's in the washing machine. They should be hand wash only. 1 - They last longer and 2- The wires don't come out and cause a problem. Mrs H got that from Rigby & Peller (Bluewater).

Glad you added the last bit Doc, had us all wondering for a minute

S'actly the same issue with my mrs! I'll do a load of washing, she'll go... babe, my bra had a wire in it, do you know where its gone?

My thoughts exactly....

safe to say, i taught her to take out the crud tray that catches all the bits in the washer and fish them out!

Can't live with em... Can't live without em!

When i 1st met my 2nd wife she had just bought a 2nd hand washing machine that wouldnt drain so me trying to make a good impression decided to take the pump of and find the blockage,

After 10 mins ive got the pump in my hand pulled out a kinder toy and a wire from a bra then delved in again and removed a long thick gold chain, here you go i say there's the problem giving her the removed items with a look of shock she tells me that the chain wasnt hers must of been the previous owners, not bad a £300 chain for a £20 washing machine!!
