Salop Matt
Now strongly considering a semi-auto I know some can be cartrige fussy when it comes to cycling ! So what semi auto do you have and what carts do work in yours and what dont ? Am trying to assertain if there is one brand thats well know as a poor preformer in semi autos ? Ive always found eley carts to be very dirty and express and gamebore to be fairley clean ! 28gram is my normal load but would be good to know about what other loads can be cycled reliably in what ! twitchynik
Fabarm XLR has cycled 21g and 28g Rio and Eley clay carts, 32g lead and steel in both 67mm and 70mm Rio and Lyavale and also 3" 36g HP steel Lyavale. No problems with any.
huffhuff
My Fabarm XLR spits anything out. 3" chamber, proofed to 1630 bar (so steel through ALL chokes). Pulse recoil system adjusts 'on the fly' for varying loads, even under its super fast cycling.
krugerandsmith
My browning fusion evolve only liked Kent velocity in 28g Both my Browning Fusion Evolve ....and Escort Magnum love any shells put through them.....just keep them clean! TbirdX
Only used 2 types of shells in my Maxus so far, 28g Eley firsts and 21g Eley firsts, the 28g have cycled without fault thus far and the 21g have been fine since it bedded in. (All in 67 mm length) Edited November 21, 2011 by TbirdX
Bloke
I have used sporting, kent velocity, Hull, but mainly eley in my Benelli supersport. anything 28gm cycled effortlessly from day 1. Eley 24gm no problems and I have used Eley light 21gm regularly, even that only failed to cycle with about 1 shell in a box. Easy to clean as well, unlike a gassser. lewj
remington spr 453 that i use love kent velocitys 28 grams but ive used 24s without probz
Scully
Kent velocity can be quite 'punchy' through an o/u over a period, but cycle well in any auto I've used.
woodcock1
Ive had trouble with benelli supersport and woodcock models cycling anything less tan 28gm shells. Not always but enough to be unreliable. I had to change my supersport as I was shooting olympic skeet at the time 24gm only.
EdSolomons
My old beretta 390 never missed a beat, I even shot a few rounds with 21g comp x to see if I could get it to jam, but carried on faultlessly. Just replacing it with a 32" 391 now, almost sorry to see it go!

Simon123
My hatsan cycles anything from 28g to 52g. Never tried going lower than 28g, as i never need to. The hatsan adores to shoot and chuck out 52g Magnums without any fault ;)

Salop Matt
So what are the pros and cons of Inertia vs Gas cycling ? I once had a go with with a benelli comfortec and was very impressed with that ! Even my mrs who could just manage with 21gram in my silver pigeon managed to shoot 10 shots with the benelli running 28gram carts, it just swallowed the recoil and was very pleasant although it had a big price tag ! Dr_evil
Interia requires less cleaning but gives more recoil than gas Plus requires a larger load to eject than a gas one does, thats what the gun shop told me when I was looking at a Benelli compared to the Xtrema 2 However at this point I'll happily swap anyone my Xtrema 2 for a Benelli
EdSolomons
All horses for courses really, everyones likes/dislikes are different. I wouldn't want a benelli if it was free, but plenty people seem to like them. Have a few shots with different guns and see what shells work in what gun!
