taking my wife shooting

i was was thinking of taking my wife out for a days game shooting, I have been beating previously and noticed that sometimes pairs of people go to a stand and one loads whilst the other shoots then on the next drive they swap over.

is this normal? or is it not something you only see on smaller syndicate shoots?

also any suggestions for small shoots in the northwest would be welcome. I have looked on guns on pegs but they are all wanting 500 per day. am not interested in large bag days just a nice day out with the missus.

If you can stand the ****-taking, go ahead. :) I can't see anyone objecting if they let blokes share a day, but I've never seen a husband and wife share a peg ever.

hmmmm. any other suggestions? she won't want to go on a ladies day by herself :hmm:

I haven't seen husband and wife either, plenty of father and sons.

Whether done or not I think it's a great idea and if I was on the next peg I'd come for a chat afterwards as it'd be eye-catching!

The sport doesn't need to be so male dominated so introducing your wife should be smiled at, not frowned upon because of some non-existent rule book.

That said - make sure she looks the part. :good:

I've shared my peg with my wife a couple of times on bought days, the shoot captain's proviso was that we wouldn't both be shooting at the same time. The idea was that she'd try driven shooting first without the expense of buying a full day of her own and then not liking it. As it happened she enjoyed it and has had several days of her own, although now she sticks to clays only.

See nothing wrong in what you and the wife want to do

Wish you both the best of luck :good:

I must be in a very different circle as I see it all the time with shooting couples as to invite both husband and wife to a shoot and give them a peg each would cost the host a bomb. So the couples share a peg only 1 shooting at anyone time. 3 weeks ago there where 4 couples in the line of 8 just glad my wife is not confident enough to stand on a peg yet more sport for me.
