No messing about, straight off. Mind you, I'm not entirley sure what he was thinking as he clearly thought he stood a chance against someone twice his size and probably 4 times his weight.

The honourable people of Great Britain applaud you Sir (well, I do at least).

you always get one!!!!!!!

What is particularly sad is that Libs' reply is what is typically wrong with this country. He obviously hasn't asked himself what he would have rather happened if he was on that train and was just wanting to get home, or needed to be somewhere by a certain time for an appointment. The lad wasn't hit, he was just forcibly ejected for not paying his way by someone who has.

Little scrotes like that need to be educated that there are some good folk around who aren't prepared to put up with their anti-social behaviour.

In my opinion he should not have intervened, it had nothing to do with him at all.

I would class it as assault, and would he have become involved if the lad he threw off was as big as him?

Doc, how do you know he was a "scrote" he could be from a respectable family, and just short of money for the fare.

How was he being antisocial?

I'll stick by what I said. I really doubt he would have been such a white knight if the 'scrote' in question was 6'2" and 17 stone.

Well, I guess that is something we're not in iminent danger of finding out. But I do find it incredulous that people like you are happy to stand there and do nothing except criticise those who aren't prepeared to let lowlifes like that lad take the rise out of the rest of us. Remember Libs, all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to stand by and do nothing.

What a bully, I would call that assault.

Edit: I doubt he would have done that to a grown man.

A bully is someone who picks on an innocent victim. This lad was far from innocent as he hadn't paid for a ticket and wasn't going to get off when spotted.

I would call that tough justice - fair play to the guy for doing it. What he did could be the simple answer to so many issues. Personally I feel that it's about time the world grew some balls and stopped fussing about the rights and feelings of people who don't play a useful law abiding role in society!

What if he didn't have any money? Well go to a phone box, reverse the charges and call someone who gives a **** because I certainly don't!

Right firstly I don't like arguing on the internet, its frivolous.

No I wouldn't get involved in a situation like this because I'd rather sit there and read an awful free paper.

You talk of this event like a second holocaust, all the lad did was skip a fair. Get a grip!

Who's arguing? I thought we were having a debate on the wrongs and rights of people getting involved when they see something they class as wrong going on. You freely admit that you are quite happy to sit there and let someone else deal with a situation that would otherwie put a lot of people out.

I think your slant on me looking at it like the second holocaust is a tad melodramatic but, in all fairness, it may have started with something that could have easily been stamped out on the outset. Instead, the people of the time whom lacked the cojones to deal with a situation that involved them witnessing a wrong doing probably thought to themselves "Oh, it's ok. I'll sit here and read a free paper whilt someone else deals with it, as is bound to happen."

But it's ok libs, we can't all feel comfortable doing the right thing, I'm sure.

If the lad would have said "No I haven't bought a ticket - I'm really sorry but I don't have the money to pay" then do you think the guy would have hoofed him off? I doubt it. Some basic manners and perhaps a little respect for the fact that he was in the wrong could even have got his fare covered by someone else! I've baled out people who are stuck before - all it takes is for them to show me they're genuinely in need of a hand and will appreciate it.

"I 'av paid and I ent gettin' off"? I think you'll find you are fella! I'm sorry but he got what was coming to him.

and thats the point....if the lad was a little humble then fair enough but he was willing to hold up the entire train and the problems that causes!!!
