CZ550Kevlar
Way ahead of them, already decided to ignore the olympics years ago!!
paddywack12
Yep I have absolutly no interest in the olympics at all !
onefulham
I'm already unhappy with us winning the Olympics, we have been told no leave during Olympics and para Olympics, that's the whole of the summer gone for me. Now that we have it I hope it is a success to make the UK look good, but I would rather we hadn't won it and not because it means I get no summer holiday, I fear for the cost, the possible security issues but mostly I fear another Dome type issue, loads of money spent on White Elephants, the Shooting venue is a prime example ! Jega
Stuff the olympics ,just an excuse for a beano for big nose coe and his mates .The farce over the shooting events tipped the balance for me.
shotgun sam
That was an intresting read I know of one person who has been asked to help at the Olympics and Comenwealth games He turned them down.
Asa Bear
Good, I'm not alone. I am new to shooting and this would have been a prime time to attract others to our sport, clay "targets" or live quarry. Fair play to this organisation for standing up for shooters. poontang
My link http://www.sportsmansassociation.co.uk/?p=152 What do you think The olympics bores me to tears. I've never heard of them before, but what a strange bunch that 'Sportsmans Association' are.
Dunkield
Seems a bit petty to me. If you spend enough time at ranges you will appreciate what a 'strange bunch' target shooters can be, just have a look through the bring back pistol threads on here and other forums for further evidence  I am going to the Olympics, and very much looking forward to it, and watching it on the telly - Go Team GB
bruno22rf
Are the clay shooters going to refuse to take part?-We are always being told that we should stand together so lets start now.
Blackpowder
Olympics !Sheer boredom, will it bring any benefit to this neck of the woods? Blackpowder
poontang
Are the clay shooters going to refuse to take part?-We are always being told that we should stand together so lets start now. Of course they're not........and why should they? If you'd been training for four years and worked hard to get to the top of your sport, culminating in a place on the British squad for the Olympics, would you give it all up just to appease a few frustrated ex pistol shooters? I haven't seen the GB pistol shooting team threaten to pull out. Some people just need to move on and stop grasping at straws. Olympics !Sheer boredom, will it bring any benefit to this neck of the woods? Blackpowder Oh, I dunno.....I think curling put Scotland on the map!! HDAV
Well I'm looking forward to going to see the Olympics. Olympic shooting is somewhat "specialised" but still impressive, shame sporting isn't an olympic discipline for clays and it's nigh on impossible to try pistol shooting in the UK (impossible on the mainland?) Does anyone know how the UK team are going to compete? temp section 5 certs? Was woolwich chosen due to it having an onsite armoury?
den5008
I am currently working in the olimpics and have been on and off now for about two years and I can honestly say what a wast off tax payers money. Tarmac the roads then dig them up to put the drainage in,which will be dug up again as it's only temporay.Tarmac vast areas and and then plain it off again because its to high the list go's on and on.I live in Hadleigh were the mountain biking event will be held, they held an event there in the summer and it was utter kaos.I think I will be going abroad on holiday when the olimpics is on. death from below
The Olympics will be a historic event for our nation and I for one am glad I will be part of it - agreed it has cost and will continue to cost this country shed loads of money but at least it's stating here, not being poured into europe (the money that is). it's a shame some people are so anti anything other than what is at the end of their noses to celebrate a once in a lifetime event for the U.K.
Dekers
On a purely selfish level I wanted to see the Olympics in the UK at least once in my lifetime, I have tickets for the shooting on 8 August, BUT, I am seriously ****** off it is not at Bisley and there will be no legacy. This is purely political b*****it and anyone who says different is................

I was told it was due to one (of the then) senior representatives of the sport royally peeing off (the then) cabinet minister in charge.... regardless i am looking forward to it.
