P~MX
Rivers West is the only way to go - 10 year waterproof warranty
rimfire4969
If you have no budget I recommend the: Harklia Pro Hunter, in all my shooting life it is the best jacket I have even owned.
Evil Elvis
Best coat I ever bought is a le chamau with a fleece lining superb coat, but I also have a seeland thornhill that I love. If it was reliable why not get another Seeland?
picardy
To be honest I think seeland take some beating and would certainly have another is the thornhill a newer model beater jacket or is it tougher. What ever I go for is must be tough as I said its a rough shooting coat and when we beat it's hard going
eddoakley
Rivers West is the only way to go - 10 year waterproof warranty nice kit but not breathable, so beating all day you could end up as wet as if you were not wearing it Edd

WGD
Harkila Pro Hunter, no question.
Fisherman Mike
Modern soft materialed jackets wont last too long if your rough beating... You need something thornproof. Like a Barbour or even a heavy tweed.
unapalomablanca
Surely a barbour. Best in the world.

photopro
Another vote for Harkila Pro Hunter but watch the sizing they are very generous !!
picardy
Thanks for the advice what are the pro hunter jackets like ie breathable and tough wearing got the boots and can vouch for those
photopro
I've not had my Pro hunter jacket very long but I have had a couple of pairs of Pro Hunter trousers a while and they are excellent, very warm and up to now not snagged on brambles and they have never leaked. Strangely the trouser sizing is about right but as I said the jacket sizing is very generous by about two sizes, in theory I should need a Eu54 I actually needed an Eu50 and I'm a 42" chest measured over a jumper.
