Few hours on the corvids

Decided to spend a few hours on the corvids this morning. After a shameful bag of just one last week I decided to change position, think things through, and take some advice from some experienced shooters on this forum.

Having only really been shooting shotguns for just over a month I asked for advice on crow shooting and decoying. I received some really sound advice, but one member who goes by the name of Eccles told me to get as close to where the farmer feeds his live stock as possible as this is the most effective way of nailing them.

So I asked the farmer permission to move further down and set up a hide with some decoys about 70 yards from the sheds.

I knew the farmer's son usually feeds the cattle around about 7-30 and the crows usually come in and pick on the maize in the silage and was hoping my setup would lure the corvids in.

I set up a few decoys (didn't over do it about 4-5) they don't seem to be feeding in big groups this time of year so a 'few' decoys seemed more natural.

Within the first half hour I managed to shoot six, and the rest was history.

All in all I bagged 16 corvids (13 in the photo, the other three landed in the river behind me) Not a bad morning, and defiantly a confidence boost from last week.

So thanks Eccles, you de man! Some sound advice :good:
