TJ91
How many fowlers have a dedicated fowling gun?
anser2
By dedicated wildfowling gun I guess you mean a gun reserved for wildfowling. I have two , an AYA 3 inch no 3 s\s. It used to be my main fowling gun in the old lead days and chokes 1\4 and 1\4 it has accounted for a lot of duck and geese. A nice gun to handle , but not up the use of modern 3 inch steel wildfowling loads. It still has its place on the shore , using tungsten or Bismuth , in the sand dunes on a windy night when a semi auto is sure to jam. My main fowling gun is a 3.5 inch steel proof Browning Gold. Ok for day tide flighting duck , but a tad clumberson for night flighting duck. But for geese with big steel loads and a .700 ( full ) after choke it makes a dam good goose gun . -Mongrel-
No. I have my clays gun and my live gun, the former being an O/U that I wasn't going to wreck on the marsh and the latter an old Beretta semi auto.

washwildfowler
i have used Beretta autos for the last 22 years , and i have just bought the Winchester SX3 and have to say it feels alot better than the Beretta ... i did have a problem with the safety catch going on when i pulled the trigger some times but we have that down to my fat fingers and have changed it round ..... skid512
Beretta Xtrema 2 max4, never let me down and wouldn't be without it. Was difficult to find one so ordered one from my local gunshop but after 12 months I still couldn't get hold of a new one. In the end I oppted for a second hand one that was 12 month old and in mint condition.
Grandalf
Benelli BE semi-auto. 3.5" - 26" steel OK tubes. Light as a feather and no recoil. Old mans gun. Use it for everything except game. Also a Browning Gold 10 bore semi-auto (steel). Thats going to be up for sale shortly. Very good gun but I'm not getting younger and need to lighten my loads every year. :(

Grandalf
No recoil  Benelli BE semi autos use enertia as the operating force. (Recoil really). You can bang big loads through them all day and never feel sore. 3.5" steel are pussycats in this machine although I normally use Heavyshot 3". Once shot 250+ at a pig's in an afternoon - No problem
woody801
I have a Baikal 153 composite 3 1/2 inch. Good gun for the shore, bit numb though. Two other lads in the club have a 153 thats a Baikal/Remington mix. It looks the same but is alot lighter. My old fella has a Browning Pheonix, it's a lovely gun. I use it alot shooting crows/pigeons so its a good all rounder.

I have fired enough big loads through the sbe2 and m2 to justify my opinion, which is, they kick like mules compared to the likes of the sx3, maxus, xtrema2 etc.
