Hello Rich welcome to the forum.

Can't find much for your gun but here is a couple extracts of what I did find.

------

The gun was built for Winchester by Laurona in Spain for distribution in Europe during the late 1970's. You should find some spanish proof marks that will give information such as date of manufacture.

Most spanish made guns have a one or two digit proof date code stamped on the watertable of o/u's and on the barrel flats of SxS's.

http://www.9mmlargo.com/year_codes.htm

------

So if you find the Spanish proof code, you should be able to id the year of manufacture I would guess.

Guns are available new at all prices, and many buyers of the lower cost guns find them well suited to there needs, these days there are no bad guns they are all made by CNC machine to incredible accuracy, some guns are more functunal for rough usage like wildfowling others very nice looking for the person who wants to spend more

I think you will find the Hatson will split the readers on here 50/50 but at the end of the day it does its job and priced to compete with the lower cost guns

No it doesnt...Forever un-jamming it and swearing at it...is NOT doing its job....There cheap Rubbish....For the same money (£300/£400)you can pick up a semi decent O/U or a decent second hand beretta A301/302...that will give you years of service...Not years of tears that the escort will give you..

Steer clear of hatstands. There GASH.. :good: :good:

Welcome to PW. Im sure you will find lots of info and opinions to help you on your way. As someone who has reurned to shooting after a 20 years break I also went to buy a semi auto for my pigeon shooting.

Not wanting to spend a megga amount I was guided in the direction of the Webley & Scott 812. Paid just under £400 new and I have to say its never missed a beat. Put a various load sizes through it and up to press, never jammed.

It may be worth a look. :):good:

Welcome to the forum and enjoy the banter. :welcomeani: :welcomeani:

You'd do well to save up a little bit more and go for a more reputable maker such as Browning, Beretta etc. I picked up a second hand Browning Fusion Gold for £400. Never missed a beat. If you can, try before you buy as one which looks a good deal may not fit you well. If your RFD won't let you then go somewhere else. Most RFD's will help you.

Hi Again

Like i said i had the use of a hatsan escort yesterday gun worked well but i didn't find it as well balanced as the berrta i used a few weeks back but saying that its got a lot less recoil than my o/u which is good for me my gun just felt so heavy so it looks like it time to buy a semi.

And you can see the difference when i stripped to clean it the berrta was a lot better built but for the price of the gun it did the job so I'm going to Avalon guns open day end of the month and I'll try a few down there but I'm swayed to wards the berrta just not sure which one but thanks for all your help.

Now all i have to do is hit a few more clays next time lol

Check the details of the Beretta. I was looking for an o/u and it was a toss up between a Beretta and a Miroku. The clincher was it felt better and it came with a TEN year guarantee. No brainer. Mind you that was new. it was a little more but I think the quality was better as well. Still a personal choice for you.

Just some house rules guidelines to follow and you'll get a loyal following :whistling: ;

1. Ask about the virtues of Hatsans (which you have - perfect start)

2. The next question after this should be whether a Browning or Beretta is best

3. Gunfit (self explanatory)

4. And finally, the last question should be what chokes should i use

Ask these periodically and it should keep you going for the first 6 months

Have a great time on this site as its better than the telly and welcome to the delights of shooting at fresh air.

There is lots of great advice on here just ask, everyone of us was new to shooting some time so please dont take my gentle leg pulling too seriously :innocent:
