pin
Spoilt our fun, but there is a flip side.. I have just seen a disco go past with two kayaks on the roof, the occupants were wearing the biggest smiles I have seen all weekend. Presumably all this rain means raging rivers of white water to play in. At least someone is getting something out of it
Pedro
15mm of rain in the past 2 days, and looking out the window I can see more black clouds in the distance. Still, you can virtually see the grass growing again It's going to make for a very wet V festival, poor **** :( P. Mung I've sent you a PM
Evilv
I'm glad I went out last night and had a few shots. It's pouring up here in Newcastle and it feels like November outside. I've got the heating on here, and meanwhile all those rabbits are waiting for me up in the hills.
Country_est
I had the weekend free so intended to do morning and evening sessions over the two days. It hasn't stopped raining since I got up this morning LB :( Recce Recce Recce, is what I am told makes good pigeon shooting.... BUT as its 120 miles from me to shooting ground not a lot I can do but hope and pray. Any way finished early on Sat afternoon and thought have a ride out eve on the rape stubbles and may be a few rabbits as dusk falls. So nice and dry here in Hampshire with no rain for weeks, even dog can only find mud to roll in, off I go to KENT. Get there and find its raining and looks like it has been for a while. Farmer has taken andvantage of this and harrowed the stubble. So as I walk across what I hope to be a dry stubble field it is now all muddy, but there are some pigeons about. Just a I am looking where to setup up comes the wind and it starts to p!55 down. So ended up with 4 Rabbits (1 was myxie so sptill him for the crows but none came) and 1 pigeon. Now off to the recipe section to find a way of doing the rabbits. Cheers trev
Lancs Lad
Could have been worse lads...........You could have got up VERY VERY Early saturday morning..........say about 4 am... Got all your gear together in the wheel barrow and take it for a push up the road to the field.... You could have set up your rotory, decoys and hide and you would then have been ready for around 5am... You could have sat there in your hide and watch the dawn break and the sun begin to rise.... You could have seen a few birds start to fly around..................... Mr Fox saying good morning as he takes his usual stroll around the bunny warrens... You could see the bunnies coming out around 6.30, but being committed you are going for pigeons today so havent chose to set up the hide near the warren for those "opportunity bunnies". You could have stayed in your hide for around 2 hours with not a bird coming in.......... You culd have stayed for another 2 hours with 1 bird coming in and jumping right off the ground before you could even get your air gun to the shoulder... You could have stayed there for another 2 hours, but you didnt,,,you thought sod it....Im taking a walk down to the warren to see if the bunnies want to play.... You probably could have blown the brains out of two bunnies,,,,,, Oh well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but it wasnt you.............it was me................. Did I mention that when you got home, you could have gone upstairs and looked out the back bedroom window to see a flock of pigeons on the barley stubble right behind your house..........but you had to go to a kids party, so you couldnt nip round and ask the farmer to do some shooting........ And you think you had a wasted weekend...................welcome to the life of Lancs Lad...
