libs
Chaps... Does any one own a Howa 1500,especially in .223. I'm considering picking up one of these new with a Nikko Sterling 3-12x on it as a package. So please post any horror stories or praise below. Also what sort of price should I be looking at for Rifle + Mounts + Nikko Sterling scope? Cheers.
Olliesims
I bought a howa 1500 .223 black for £485, didn't go for the package deal, Only problems I've had is just me being new to centerfire found it hard to get used to, now I'm used to it I can get 6 shots in a inch group, over all a very nice gun, *It was also bought new not secondhand*
ScottCromwell2
great rifle uncle has one only had one problem that was simple and cost £10 to fix, spring in the bolt
V8 90
You'd be better off with my Tikka T3 .223 - it's for sale complete package i.e. Mod Scope etc
aister
my pal bought one in 223 a few months ago with a nikon prostaff 3-9x50 and its is a very accurate gun. with ppu 55gr soft points it can shoot just under an inch and with the reloads i use in my a-bolt it can make one ragged hole, 3/8-1/2 inch. good gun for the money . phaedra1106
Save a few ££s and buy it as a Weatherby Vanguard, exactly the same rifle but around £450, put the savings towards a better scope

adymorris
I've had one in .223 for a few years, great gun straight out the box, trigger a little on the heavy side but can be sorted or replaced if the need arises, other than that I'd recommend one, built to last and very accurate

Olliesims
I shot mine without the mod, and will say one shot was enough I wouldn't like to use one without a mod

Mungler
Had one, could get it to work for me. My advice, spend the money and get something decent like a Tikka or Steyr
al4x
Missing a not there mungler personally I'd also avoid the man licker not just because of its name but also the iffy synthetic stocks that flex too much

pigeon pete
also forgot to say ,take the barrel and action out and remove about 1/8th of the forend from where the barrel sits ,all the way back to the action ,you should be able to get a £10 note between the barrel and forend
