BerettaSV10
Myself would keep the urika as you say you love it, if your budget alllows look to get the hatsan as a second gun.
fenboy
Not being funny but that is like swapping a rolls royce for a push bike , your beretta should be worth far more secondhand that a escort is new too , so if you are set on getting rid of it try to sell it first. HDAV
How about you learn to clean the AL391 and can you not buy a steel proof barrel for it? Is it a 3" chamber? would be odd for it not to be steel proof but they may be down to the proof test carried out rather than the ability of the gun! Read here: http://www.shotguns.se/html/steel_proof.html I would certainly confirm the spec with GMK or competent gunsmith before trading it in for hat stand! littlerob
no it do not have the Fluer de Llys stamp i know about this one it dont have it on it what so ever so that go's to say it not steel proof like i said im thinking about wildfowling and maby need a gun just for that job so that hwere i was thinking bye bye berreta and come on the cheapo im far from a big brand man im more about how the gun feels and how its going to treat me by not falling to parnt and not breaking
fenboy
There is very little to go wrong when stripping the beretta right down , the trigger comes out with just one pin , the bolt is also very easy to remove and clean and just as easy to replace , from what I have seen the escorts are harder to take apart , they also require keeping very clean to prevent problems. chrispti
For what your gun is worth 2nd hand, is about the same value as a 3 1/2'' Winchester SX3, a much better option than the cheaply made, massively front heavy Hatstand
Gerry31
Only one thing I would ask have you taken leave of your senses ex change one of the best ever produced semi autos for what is possibly the worst you dont happen to have a Bentley that you would swap for my old proton do you. Joking apart its a no brainer just dont do it.

FarmerSim
As others have said, DON'T DO IT !! It occurs to me that this is the wrong way round.. one is supposed to buy a cheap first gun to learn with, and then upgrade to something nice, and if one can afford it something pretty too, ( OK, perhaps just prettier). Speak to the importer about steel in your Beretta, and ask them if it could be proofed for it, if it isn't already, that is, does it just need the test doing? I have a pal who has taken guns to the proof house, in person, at an appointed time for the test(s). paid his money and come away with the paperwork.. AFAIK, all he had to do was ring them, and make said appointment...Simples! If you really want a Hatstand, then buy one, but please keep the Beretta! TrapFiller
you could always buy a hatsan pump for around £290.
HDAV
you could always buy a hatsan pump for around £290. You can buy a hatsan semi for that ( and less http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Hatsan-Arms_Shotgun_Escort-Composite_For-Sale_120712141136001 ).....although buying a used one could be a lot of hassle for saving £50 on a new one! http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Escort_Shotgun_For-Sale_120607121850001
Hornet 6
I would still suggest contacting GMK about it, proof costs about £80 + fees an RFD has to send it for proof. The last couple I have had done were £25 per barrel, one rifle at £25 and a shotgun at £50, your semi auto would be £25 on that scale. Neil. Gizza22196
you can pick up a hatsan for around £250 and would be ideal, if you do want to get rid of the beretta then sell it, dont px it also dont get the 3.5" because you will get problems no end because they are designed for bigger loads so the spring is a lot stronger and wont cycle most normal cartridges
Granty84
Swapping from an urika to a hatsan does appear to be a serious step down in quality and more importantly to most of the people in the UK who don't have one "class". Escorts are seriously Marmite guns- There's nothing wrong with them but there are a lot of haters out there (most of whom haven't owned one). I bought a second hand 3.5" and found it wouldn't cycle anything less than 32gms. It all depends on what you want to use it on. 3" will still handle pretty heavy magnum loads but my Mk4 will happily cycle a super weak 21gm without batting an eyelid. If you do decide to get an Escort go 3" as you'll have a great all-rounder, but it would appear that this will be a step down in quality from your urika.
