Mark Bridger -- April murder charge ?

As I understand it, the police time ran out at 3:30 pm - charge or release. If the CPS were reasonably confident of securing a conviction from the available evidence, he could have been charged.

What I can't understand is that he must be aware of the strength of feeling about this one and common sense would indicate that if indeed he is guilty and has "coughed" to it, then also identifying the location of the poor little mite's body would make a difference to the court's attitude and to any consideration with regards to the family's suffering in particular.

On he other hand, yep, there's always the Ian Brady mentality.

Police probably have sufficient evidence (forensic?) to suggest he murdered her and thus the charge rather than release (which I doubt would ever have happened). If he has put her in the river it maybe some time if ever before she is found :(

Unfortunately, this is where I'm at with the situation.

Iif she's gone into a flooding river, she may well have moved a considerable distance. :(

i honnestly feel phisically sick! that life form they have in custody is a monster!! the work the police and public are doing is fantastic and i bet like me alot of people are feeling the effects of what has happened on a personal note, especialy those who have children! im so pleased to see the nation standing together to find that poor little lass. the helecopters have been flying all day today here in cumbria searching the coast. on behalf of myself and family i just want to say well done to all those who joined the search party's and spent and are spending there own time trying to bring that wee lass home!

Everyone here are hoping that little April is found soon.Whole community are behind the Police and searchers in their duties.

Have 2 searchers coming in a bit to stop the night with us,not sure police or 1 of the teams searching atb Terry

Good for you Eccles, what a brilliant guesture offering a place to stay for some of those searching, I take my hat off to you.

It been great to see such wonderful community spirit in such terrible circumstances. I suppose community isn't the right word, this is sense of wanting to help and praying for the safe return of April, is far reaching to all parts of the country and beyond. We are all hoping and praying that April is found sooner rather than later, for the families sake.

Remember innocent till proven?! It is possible that the police need a suspect and they usually pull in everyone local on the offenders list? I though she had gone into a light coloured van this man drive a dark blue range rover? Anyway I suppose I'm saying don't jump to conclusions. Terrible events though my heart goes out....
