Hi All,

I have a put in a variation for an extra .22lr and it has been granted just wondering what to go for Dont want to spend too much as I over spent getting the sako,

I'm thinking of a synthetic stocked bolt action rifle what d you recomend and what should I pay ? I dont need a scope so it seems pointless to buy a rifle and scope package.

I'm leaning towards a CZ but will listen to all advice from here

I assume you dont need a scope coz you already have one, not that you are going with open sights? purely wanting a set of open sights will narrow your search if its the latter case.

I should go CZ 452 they are great guns and very widely available, indeed you will struggle to find a proper dealer who hasnt got one more than one who has. also very available on the private market expect to pay around 250 without scope secondhand and you can afford to be choosy at that price range

Same as all the others, CZ 452 is a great gun!

I have one in .22lr and one in .17hmr. Both are the the "Silhouette" version. Plastic stock, blued metal work. But as has been mentioned, the "Style"

is very good against the elements.

I bought the £14.00 trigger kit for both. And it made it even better! Only took half an hour to fit to!

I've got two CZ, my .22lr is a 511, I picked it up used for £150 with moderator and scope... after a good cleaning and some fettling shes a lovely little rifle... I also like that its used and I'm not too precious about it, its my Go To gun.

I also have a new 455 in .17hmr... which is very nice too :)

Hi Dekkers what i was going to do was set the Sako up in 17 hmr leaving the other barrel (counts as a rifle on My FAC) in the cabinet and get a dedicated .22lr or seeing the prices the sako barrel goes at sell thsat to fund the CZ :)

The latest CZ are going this barrel change route, nothing really new in this, just that manufacturers are now making what was simply a manufacturing process more end user friendly. I'm not a fan of the barrel change malarkey but I'm sure it suits some.

For the price of a Sako Quad with a couple of barrels you could potentially have 2 COMPLETE rifle setups in CZ! :good:
