harrycatcat1
I had to smash a window to get in the house the other day and had to put plywood over the broken window and taped it on with duck/duct tape. The silver top layer has come off easy but the sticky stuff underneath is well stuck on. I have tried petrol and nail remover on a rag but it does not want to come off. Is it because the weather is cold or something as I thought it should come off with petrol? What would you use? Regards Hcc
PaulABF
A razor blade or stanley blade to scrape it off maybe? Surprised that nail varnish remover hasn't budged it. Orange oil gets rid of sticky stuff.

gixer1
Put wd40 on it what we do at work +1 - oddly enough I did this today, leave it to soak for a minute or two then wipe it and repeat until all clean, legia gun spray also works! Followed by brake cleaner to remove the oil. Regards, Gixer
Gimlet
Get a bottle of UPVC cleaner solvent from a window supplier or builders merchant. Smells like nail varnish remover but considerably higher octane. It removes pretty much anything.
