Alecheywood
I want to get a green one in medium, but was wondering what you guys think of them - any criticism or praise much wanted.
TaxiDriver
If the jacket is like the one Ive got, the waterproofing isn't more than slightly shower proof, and breathability (despite manufacturers claims) is rubbish, you'll sweat so badly it'll be as wet on the inside as it is on the outside, ewwww
fenboy
I had a JP hunter jacket and it was rubbish , as Taxi Driver says it was about as breathable as a polythene bag despite their claims , it had also started falling apart after wearing it twice , I took it back and got a refund. The Ghost
Think again, not at all happy with mine....Not warm, poor quality. I have since been given a DPM gortex jacket that is not ideal due to lack of pockets but far better quality and was free from Army Cadet mate. I think all JP stuff is the same poor quality. Alecheywood
Surely you'll only sweat if moving about? Decoying etc should be fine shouldn't it?
JimLondon
Surely you'll only sweat if moving about? Decoying etc should be fine shouldn't it? I think the moving about bit comes at the start of your day lugging all your gear to your chosen position, then setting up Jim
blindasabat
i bought jack pyke jacket and trousers for me and lad a couple of years ago.they cost me over 200 pounds for both and i was assured that they were 100% waterpfoof.we had a day out and saw rain approaching and i though we would stay dry.wrong!!!!.....got peed through.i emailed jack pyke customer services and complained and didnt hear a thing back from them.i now have ridgline monsoon gear and been out in torrential rain and snow and stayed warm and dry. TaxiDriver
Surely you'll only sweat if moving about? Decoying etc should be fine shouldn't it? The key issue is the lack of breathability, the least amount of moving around and you WILL start to sweat, it's like wearing a bin bag 5 or 6 people have responded to your question, all have said pretty much the same thing since you asked. How many have said "ohh yes brilliant choice of clothing" ? But hey it's your money...If you think its right for you...........knock yerself out

halfbee
Fine for a wet day in the hide but ZERO breathability so if you sweat it's all staying on the inside Ummmmm Clammy. Edited February 12, 2013 by halfbee
Alecheywood
What about if you only wear the outer jacket? Still no breath ability?
The Ghost
I think you want to buy one Alec.....remember we told you so. I wear Ex-Army gear & look like a tramp when out shooting....but I am always warm, dry & very hard to see....sort of Ghost Like.
jonesbach
I've got one, does the job for me. Wear only a tshirt out in the night under it and I'm cosy. Seems to be waterproof enough for what I need although I like to be a fair weather hunter(take pity on the guns!:-/!)
Greymaster
3 in 1 includes a zip in fleece you can wear separately. No-one seems to have any issues with that. I found my outer waterproof. Wicking was a problem because the cuff seals I guess. But it kept me snug and dry from the elements. However, on a really cold day I wore a thermal top under my shirt and I was completely dry inside, so it might be just a layering issue. poorpeet
I have to say that I bought my Hunter jacket, which I think is the same as the outer layer of the 3 in one, back in 2009/10. It has been fine. It's never leaked. I've not noticed it getting sweaty. On the strength of that I bought their reversible zip up fleece/jumper. Best bit of kit ever, I use it day in and day out. Very warm & wind & water proof. I wear it under the jacket if is REALLY cold wet and windy & I'm warm as toast. Perhaps they changed the spec at some point but, like I said, I've not had a problem with mine.
