team tractor
Right guys I'm just setting a budget for when I get my fac . I've always shot field Target but stopped 3 years ago so I'm not up to date with current scopes. I've got a nikko sniper 10x42 currently on my s400 which is super clear but I know its no longer made but people keep offering £180+ for it for hft. My question is will I find a good scope for £100ish to go on hmr or should I fit my s400 scope and buy another for the air gun ? I can't see 10mag being enough power for 100yards . team tractor
Or leapers maybe . I'm used to clear glass and 50mag in ft but don't want 24 mag in a scope that's blured. Easy answer I know is spend more but I don't want to sell existing kit to fund it

bicykillgaz
Optimate are great for the money, hawke and simmons are good enough for most people's needs too.

Medic1281
I've got a leupold vx1 4-12x40 for sale if your interested. More than £100 but a very good scope with sunshade, and butler creek covers. Ideal for a hmr in my opinion. Looking for around £180. team tractor
Been looking through my 10x 42 at targets around 100-120 yards just and could imagine its enough power but is it ? Don't really want second hand as someone's had the best of it or squashed the tube .
thepasty
I had a £35 hawke sport HD on mine to start off (all I had kicking around) and to be frank it was fine out to 100-120, I shoot no better with the varmint 4-16x44
Medic1281
Not always true. My scope was inherited when I bought my rifle, it's a good scope but not the scope I want. I prefer S&B scopes so I replaced it with one. The vx1 is now not needed.

Dekers
Magnification is FAR to personal to call, I tend to use 6x on everything up to about 200 yards but I know one guy who likes 30x on his 12ft lb air in the field. Scope wise there are loads suitable for a HMR at £100 or less, and then you have reticle choice as well.....Good Luck! bullet boy
Just bought a Nikko Sterling Nighteater 6-24x56 for my HMR off a good mate of mine for £100. This is a very good scope for use on a HMR. ATB.
