Mike737
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRA-FISHING-TACKLE-ANGLING-2-2M-86-INCH-UMBRELLA-W-ZIP-SIDES-SEA-CARP-BROLLY-/300841801022?pt=UK_SportingGoods_FishingAcces_RL&hash=item460b91953e I've seen these on the bay, would it make the basis of a good all weather hide? I'm thinking one of these with camo netting around the front, keep the wind and rain off. I got saturated and frozen this morning, with only one pigeon ever in view...And I missed it! If it kept you dry, it wouldn't feel so cold I think? All opinions welcome, could spray it darker if that would be better. Thanks, Mike. decoy1
think it would not give ya much movment think it would ristrict you from shooting unless you jump in and out
CZ550Kevlar
It says it has a multi angle tilt function so might be possible to tilt it back to give a bit more clearance at the front. I'm tempted to try it for £25, are they wind proof do you think?
fenboy
It will certainly be windproof , but if you can keep it anchored in a good wind will be a different matter .
deny essex
It can work well, used a fishing brolley for years in iffy weather, use the tilt function and have the net forward away from the brolley line , as you stand to shoot a step forward and you are clear of the brolley . Mike737
Well, I've ordered one, so I'll report back when I've tried it. Hopefully next weekend! They are 2.2metres wide at the front or across the widest part, so I should think there will be enough room to manoeuvre.

rabbiter
got one mate,i dont use the zip on sides though, comes in really handy in bad weather,i like it,the tilt mechanism is great, throw a net over the top and your usual net/nets around the front.....DAZ

Tis1979
No good I reckon, pigeon shooting in the wind you will have a mare with it.
mikesy
No you wont, you can use a guy rope and pegs to keep it in place . Also when its tilted back , the wind does not have such an effect. What do you think match fishermen use when its windy? Look for a camo one if you can. good luck
halight
For the price its worth a try.
fergie
Have you done a parachuting course? another helpful comment well done You can anchor them down with guide ropes and pegs mate as we do when we go fishing, it should tilt just push the ground spike in properly

deny essex
We often set up with our backs to the wind when decoying and in mid winter a real cold damp wind can have a chilling effect on us. Back against a bare winters hedge with no foliage is very little help against a cold wind, a brolley set up correctly does the job nicely, I've not found the need to use the skirt sides on the brolley and Cosd will verify 2 can share and shoot safely from it. It can be pegged down , tied to a bush or tree for added security, set sideways with a cross wind if needed, the only placement its not good for is a head on wind. 2 nets are handy , one for covering the brolley and the usual hide net on poles, it can also help when the birds are high overhead giving you some top cover if needed. I have used mine set up in the middle of a field, on the edge of and in barren ditches between 2 fields anywhere realy. I dont use it every trip but its always in the disco , the benefits I think out weigh the possible minimal restriction it can have for full 360 degree shooting given the cover it offers on those cold, wet winter days. Mike737
Well it's arrived today, is a nice dark green colour, comes with a carry bag, the zip on sides, guy ropes and tentpegs! there is a slot through the top of the umbrella hole to thread the ropes. A good deal for twenty five quid I think. Got to wait for the weekend to try it out, and hope for a bit better weather than last weekend. Mike.
