andy198712
He's not slagging others, he posted a question, the people jumped on him. The guy wants to buy a gun. He has his budget, he has a few target options. Crack on I say! Its human nature to treat ones self, we work hard and earn our cash. Best of luck with the search! rimfire4969
I dont like waste and will take you on anytime with my 17 year old Beretta 687 - however good you are. When you have tried Mercedes, Range Rover etc, often what is sensible tends to be your favourite. BTW I also Have an H&H which I shoot with regularly, bought at a reasonable price off a friend. Do whatever is your thing but dont condemn others - its not sporting IMHO. Oh dear. Thanks for the input. By the way. My Dads bigger than Your Dad. White Lodge
I would say that the fit is prolly more important than brand, it could be the best gun in the world but if it doesn't fit you wont hit a thing. Where about in Cornwall are you? If you can manage a trip to Ladds Guns in Crediton you won't go far wrong. http://www.laddsguns.com They have a good range of new and second hand guns and the staff are very helpful. I have no ties with them but I will recommend good service. I was in there for a couple of hours and tried about a dozen guns from £900 upwards. I came away just with a very nice CG Maxum for not much more than your budget.

rimfire4969
Wish i had £2000 for a gun, mine cost £150 AL HUNTER,good look with your hunt. My first shotgun cost me £35 it was a single barrel hammer 20 bore that i still have. My first double was a Harrier 12 bore sxs that cost £90.00 about 25 years ago and i had to save long and hard to get it. I am in a lucky position, i work hard and thankfully business is good. rimmie
For £1500 (a bit more, bit less) you can get a browning 325,425 grade 5. Beautiful gun, and IMO much nicer than the new 725 grade 5's. I havea 425 grade 5 and it's a stunning thing.
eccles
I shoot a EELL fixed choke 1/4 + 1/2 and its a lovely gun to shoot. Had mine about 20 years now and still going strong. The crows don't like me using it though getting very near my 1000 crows for this year. Would not like to guess how many its killed since iv'e had it . andy198712
Surely if you found your dream gun but it didn't fit, you could have it fitted? Is Ian hodges (I think that's right) any good? He's nearer you then helston gunsmiths. Not sure helston really hold that kinda gun anyway?
Catweazle
I am in a lucky position, i work hard and thankfully business is good. Good on you , you've earned it now enjoy spending it. Personally I won't spend a load of money on a gun that gets dragged around the field, it would spoil my day if I dinged it on a fencepost, but if owning that special gun adds to your enjoyment of your well earned day then good luck to you. My limit is a 682 E, it's better than I ever will be and I won't cry if it gets caught on a wire fence.

I am now in a very good position where I can afford something of better quality. Why drive an old Lada(no offence) if you can afford a Merc.why drive a merc when you can have a hilux I have a old 3800 and a few other mint classics that are probably better made than 90% of today's guns don't matter if its old or cheap if it works use it,,, Edited July 8, 2013 by delburt0
kev56
If you want a EELL go for it, you won't regret it. I shoot a EELL and love it, i also shoot a cheap Remington 870 which i enjoy just as much.

Exactly Completely agree, if people feel its a waste of my money so what its MY money. To be honest i don't really care what people think, even though its quite good fun to answer the posts. All i wanted was an opinion on what to buy. I want to take a good look at a CG when i find one close to me, there are not that many EL's about, so i might chuck some extra money at it and go for an EELL if i can find the right one. There is one on online at the moment for £2500.
Reeceknight
lada is a strange car to compare stuff with lol I like to think of my £800 bettinsoli as ......... erm, maybe a BMW diesel, new, sensible, gets the job done but not to exiting and I like to think of my aya no2 as a escort mexico, classic, delicate and still great. I mean ladas are ****! that was a low blow haha I say it's no good being the richest man in the grave yard buy whatever you want whenever you want it.
