Frenchieboy to the Rescue

Last Saturday whilst stood talking to my mentor at Worsley I flicked a horse fly off my wrist, sadly not soon enough to prevent is causing me a few days of discomfort.

I went to Worsley again this afternoon. I got out of the car to be met by a shooting buddy clutching his wrist, a horse fly had just had him as well.

Working on the basis of prevention is better than cure, I decided to root out the DEET, mission abandoned I came across a small sample bottle of Frenchieboys secret potion that he sent me a couple of years ago. A few dots here and there, and off we went, a few hours later we set off for home without any further bites.

I'll make sure that I apply a few dots before we start the shoot working party tomorrow.

Nice one Pete, you saved the day, and didn't even know it.

Got bitten at Worsley last year, my hand swelled up badly over next couple of days ended up at doctors with anti histamine tablets and anti biotics. This time of year if I am going to Worsley always carry a tin of the strongest insect repellent I can get

Good to hear. How's he doing as not seen him posting for a while

I've been around Guss, maybe you just haven't noticed mate!

The "mixture" is quite simple - Oil of Citronella and Oil of Lemon Grass mixed in a Sweet Almond Carrier Oil! a.Being natural oils there is less chance of any reaction to them than there is with many shop brought "insect repellents" and it does work just as well if not better than many you pay a good few pounds for in the chemist!

I was at Worsley this morning through to lunchtime and I have to admit that the horse flies there were a real problem!

p.s. Thanks for the compliments guys but all I do is to treat people the way that I would like to be treated.

For years I've used Jungle Formula and again this year. BUT it's a new formula and my face puffed up as though I'd had a horse fly sting ( one got inside my face veil while hare shooting near Macrihanish many years ago and really did a job on me - couldn't see the following morning). The pain wasn't the same, just a stinging soreness but no thanks - where's the Avon - bit late though, guess where my step son has just returned from!

Edit: Request for info deleted - found the other thread.

You don't need any "magic potion" for that mate, all you need to do is point your gun in the right direction!:whistling::yes:

Maybe someone could show me how!
