yickdaz
after a few hours looking around for birds eventually found a lot of activity around 2 wheat fields birds flighting from all over and sat on telephone wires above it, it was all standing but from the headland 50 yards into the field hadn't grown and was full of weeds it looked the obvious spot to set up but with a caravan park 200 yards directly behind it was a no no ended up on a grass field about 100 yards wide separating the two wheat fields with our backs to it confident we could pull them the 50 yards or so from behind with the rotary it worked very well, set up in such a way that we were shooting to our left and directly in front we couldn,t shoot to our right with a canal tow path 200 yards away we had to let a lot of birds go not shot at frustratingly because the bag would of been doubled no problem, it was a nice bit shooting shot 50 exactly and picked 44 have another look at them next weekend grass field we shot splitting the fields
fenboy
Well shot , nice to see someone putting some thought into how to best pick what they shoot.
JDog
Good adaptability, otherwise you may not have fired a shot. Not long to go to harvest and easier hide positioning.

pigeon controller
Well done Daz, I prefer to shoot the grass all the time as your decoys show up better, footpaths and canals can be a pain but you made the right decision, result.
