Tedward
Only eaten the one, I was embarrased into it by no1 son playing devil's advocate, - crow was shot on a very "quiet" walk around (the only shot!) and was subsequently used for a practice retrieve for the dog. No real conservational aspect. Anyway, long story short, took it home and prepped the breast meat a la pigeon, - flash fried and served with a small green salad. After the initial distrust, I was quite surprised to find it more than acceptable (and so did my son and his rather squeamish girlfriend - bless her) Not the same as pigeon, but not too disimilar. Have I repeated the experiment - no. No reason other than in-built traditonalism. cheers, Tedward.
four-wheel-drive
They eat road kill and hang out on rubbish tips. KFC
I have eaten Crow. It is an acquired taste and quite gamey. I would suggest hanging for at least 3-7 days and a marinade of choice, Plum and Ginger would be nice. I eat most of what I shoot but Crow is low on my list. Pepper&Bess
Not for me. I would eat most things but not crow.
Paddy Galore!
All of this "don't eat the meat of animals that are meat eaters" is a load of rubbish. I assume, unless you are all vegetarians, that you eat chicken? How about fish? Crab? Lobster? All of these animals eat "meat". Bear meat, dog meat, cat meat and similar are regularly eaten all over the world. Oh, and the Muslim thing, that's wrong. It is meat of the pig that they don't it as it's considered unclean (as it will eat anything and everything without restraint. It is the restraint thing mainly. However, Muslims are permitted to eat pig if they must eat to live). do your home work young man, muslims don't eat the meat of meat eaters, not just pigs. Animal Mother
do your home work young man, muslims don't eat the meat of meat eaters, not just pigs. Again, so they don't eat fish or chicken?

Paddy Galore!
Again, so they don't eat fish or chicken? sorry,he didn't specify. we had a guest over who happens to be a Muslim when i posted that and that was his take on the matter. Malik
Again, so they don't eat fish or chicken? We eat chicken and fish. Well i do. Some muslims debate whether fish is right or wrong. Its pork, birds of prey, scavengers, carrion and other carnivorous animals. That are not permitted. From my understanding anyway Edited August 5, 2013 by Malik
steve_b_wales
Again, this thread has been somewhat derailed, and now we are talking about the Muslims and French!
Gimlet
The French eat tiny songbirds that have been drowned in brandy and have their entrails still inside them. Muslims eat proper food and drink tea. I know who I'd trust on crows.
Salop Matt
I have eaten branchers and they were very nice. I would also eat young crow too just to try it but once they get into flying so they can get out and scavenge i wouldnt eat either ! Although surely this is where the song "4 and 20 black birds baked in a pie" comes from ? ATB Matt
