motty
Here is some footage of my latest decoying session rape stubble. The bag was only 37, but i had a few left and rights and a few long shots. I hope you enjoy it.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6VTbO5PA7M
JDog
Another excellent video. It is very hard to judge distances I know but some of those birds must have been 50 - 60m surely? It looks like Montana with all of that sky. I suppose that you have perfected your technique of putting a hide in the middle of the field due to the large fields? I have much smaller fields round here and as yet I have not done it. The largest field I know is 70 acres which I shot the Saturday before last and I just about dragged the birds all the way across the field to my hide position in a hedge. I don't know how far some of the shots were, but some must have been well over 50 yards. I wouldn't say i've perfected a technique with the hide, i just try and site it in the best place according to wind direction, where the birds want to be and a safe angle of fire etc. Occasionally i get spotted by birds from behind, but that's the way it is. I certainly didn't have it all my own way yesterday. There were hundreds piling down on the other side of the field as i shot, but i was getting enough trade for it not to matter too much. motty
some proper long shots there motty. i know you like your trap carts etc but what choke do you use in you auto? It's just a 1/2 choke, extended ported teague. I get good even patterns with the Rios that i favour.

I may have a little nip down by the Nene on the first, just to see if i can get a mallard or two. If the first wasn't a Sunday, i would probably be inland somewhere looking for some geese. I'm just hoping there are plenty of pinks on the marsh again this season. Good shooting motty is it beretta auto? Yes. It's an Xtrema.
