I`ve had a few El Cheapo and always found them a bit wanting so does anyone have the Stanley Aladdin type flasks and what did you think ?

Cheers for any (sensible) answers :thanks:

The Stanley flasks are very good

Unfortunately no-one seems to have managed to make a stainless flask that can compare with the old glass type when it comes to heat retention.

They do last a damn sight longer though

I have a Stanley stainless steel vacuum flask and its OK, but not that much better than the cheaper versions.

Mine get dented, which is not a problem, but they all seem to eventually fail on the stopper seal.

The Stanley has lasted a bit longer, but last week I noticed that the stopper was almost going past the "locking" position, which is a sure sign that the seal is worn and it will soon be leaking.

I am convinced that if used regularly (and abused), they last up to two years maximum. :thanks:

I had a stanley when I was in the army.......................god did that get a bloody battering...............

think it got nicked in the end..............

I use a stainless cheapo now.............its good for a session beating....

Hint......................pre heat the thing for about 15 mins before you use it................pour boiling water in....close it.................then filll accordingly with fresh brew or even better......BOVRIL

I got an "unbreakable" stainless one, dropped it and broke the plastic cup inside the lid :good:

Just got another one for £3 from instore/poundstretcher, the little ones hold just enough water to fill two pot noodles

Never had a problem with cheap ones losing heat.
