Hodmedod.one
I`ve had a few El Cheapo and always found them a bit wanting so does anyone have the Stanley Aladdin type flasks and what did you think ? Cheers for any (sensible) answers The Stanley flasks are very good  Unfortunately no-one seems to have managed to make a stainless flask that can compare with the old glass type when it comes to heat retention. They do last a damn sight longer though

Lord Geordie
Anyone tried expanding foam round the flask between the walls to try and retain the heat? I was going to try it but ran over my flask last time i went fishing LG
Cranfield
I have a Stanley stainless steel vacuum flask and its OK, but not that much better than the cheaper versions. Mine get dented, which is not a problem, but they all seem to eventually fail on the stopper seal. The Stanley has lasted a bit longer, but last week I noticed that the stopper was almost going past the "locking" position, which is a sure sign that the seal is worn and it will soon be leaking. I am convinced that if used regularly (and abused), they last up to two years maximum.
plinker
i have had an adventurer for about 15 years and it still works perfectly but on the downside we have not had many adventures together apart from being beat to ****e on a buildind site every day
jonno 357
I have 2 aladdin flasks (drink a lot of tea) that are all made from plastic. They must be 20 year old and they IMO are better than the SS ones. They have longer heat retention jonno

Cranfield
Perhaps I screw mine up too tight, it seems strange that nobody else has the same problem .

30-6
I got an "unbreakable" stainless one, dropped it and broke the plastic cup inside the lid Just got another one for £3 from instore/poundstretcher, the little ones hold just enough water to fill two pot noodles Never had a problem with cheap ones losing heat.
