neil3728
I have seen loads of geese on my permission, loads flying over and plenty landing on the stubble, what is the rules on shooting them. I'm miles away from any water although we have a few private ponds close by.

dob
They say that if you pick up a shot goose by using forefinger and thumb and grab it by chest feathers, if it falls to the ground and you got a little tuft of feathers between said fingers it's good eating. If however the bird just swings from your fingers without falling to the ground it's as tough as old boots , could be a load of rubbish but hey ho give it a go. deaquire
Lead bird will be old and very tough to eat quite often i will pick out one at the back visibly smaller than the rest this is this years young and will be nice eating Atb Lee Don't geese re-arrange their positions so the lead bird catches a break and can sit in the slip stream for a while? It makes sense for a young bird to be at the back, but not for the lead bird to any tougher than the next few.
