Sport from last weekend

Started off on Thursday night. We decided to go out with the .22lr to try and get a few bunnies for burgers. I decided to take the .223 also as I was confident I would see a fox or 2. We walked for a while and stopped at the first place to have a call. First fox was spotted about 400 yards away with the nightmaster. A few calls and the fox was coming in like a bolt. I had to stop calling or the fox would have been in at our feet, anyway it stopped at 100 yards and my mate dispatched it. We scanned around after the shot and there were 2 more foxes; one of them turned tail, but the other was still interested. It was on a fence line so I couldn't take the shot for what seemed an eternity, but finally it presented itself about 130 yards away and I took it with the .223. Below are pics of the 2 big dog foxes, look at how black the 1 my mate shot was:

We didn't get anymore foxes but we got 3 bunnies also.

Next we headed out on Saturday to do a few fox drives with my Father's dogs. First couple of drives didn't produce, but on the 3rd my mate shot a really old dog fox, it hardly had a tooth left in it's head:

Next drive also produced a vixen (no pic) and the last drive I shot a young vixen which I shot with a 3" magnum no. 3 in 50 g.

We then rounded the night off at our flight pond. My mate shot like a tube, which is not like him. But I ended up shooting 2 mallard & 1 teal and he shot 1 mallard as we were about to leave:

A great weekend all round and very successful.
