turbo33
TX200, mk3, walnut, HC, 177 Or if you fancy an alternative from the usual suggestions, go to your RFD and try a Bsa Lightning SE GRT. The early ones were rubbish and knocked out in Spain. The new ones are really nice and surprisingly good. I recommended a friend to try one. He bought it, has had it for nearly a year and absolutely loves it. He has had the HW's and the AA's. I'm not, but he is a springer man, and whilst we were having a play with it at 30yds, he was clover leafing with it Lighter than most springers and the gas ram is very smoooooth I would certainly try one Edited November 12, 2013 by turbo33

turbo33
Not me, I am a pcp poof and not skilled enough for a springer. But I did have a TX200 for a while and it was superb. The only downside to the topend accurate springers is the weight issue, that you are already aware off. But see my post above. Hope it helps

moorvale55
Hi Lampro, my HW80k is a 26 year old one, (confirmed by HW when I emailed them re the serial number), in mint condition and is SO accurate. It's heavy but brilliant. Cost £180.00 as used without scope or sling but with a HW moderator. I will never sell it because I love it even though the 17hmr, .22lr and .243 are available as well as shotguns. Nice to hear from someone else in the same County. ATB. Edit: That should say .22 rf not just lr. Edited November 12, 2013 by moorvale55
lampro
same here, must admit I like HW rifles and very tempted with the 80, whant something built for working in the field seen a couple of nice ones on gun star for sale for around my budget
moorvale55
I swear by the 80k, a bit lighter than the 80 and a bit shorter, just watch the foot pounds as they can creep over. They were designed as an FAC air rifle originally. If you fit a scope you will need an arrestor pin to stop the scope creeping from recoil. After 26 years of what I can see no messing with it what more can I say.
bruno22rf
TX200 would be the ideal replacement IMO but if weight was becoming an issue then try as many as you can. If I was in your position I would look around for something a bit different-Original 45, BSA Mercury S or FWB 124 for example as they will all hold their value or even rise with time-all in .177 of course Edited November 12, 2013 by bruno22rf

steve_b_wales
Why not get a HW90 with the gas ram system? Constant power and less noisier than a spring powered air rifle. All Weihrauch's are excellent though.

kent
My insurance has said yes too paying me out for my stolen air rifle, I had a hk 97 before, what would you guys reckomend with £300 to spend for a good all rd pest control springer as close to 12ftb;s as you can get with consistant power 97 was a tad heavy after a while but a very good rifleWhat you will find is with spring power rifles weight helps them shoot. Spring piston guns producing a full legal limit are harder than heck to shoot well from all stances we use in the field. I tend to reduce the power in any lighter guns so I might actually hit what I am aiming at as that push pull recoil can realy narf things up if you haven't got the perfect hold. The very principle of the better springers is weight and reduced spring / air volume with high efficiency. If you want a real hard gun to shoot well look for the highest power springer in the lightest weight

Longbower
HW 95K , With a V Mach tuning kit. Is an awesome piece of kit. and would be my gun of choice if I had to give them all up and keep only one. I have a gas ram BSA Lightning, which is OK, but not a patch on the HW 95 K. The recoil on the Lightning is sharp, and whereas the HW is just a smoothie. Watch the power on both though, as they can creep over. AA Diablo pellets work very well with both rifles. Catweazle
HW77 and 97 are great, both will do the job for years. I chose a TX200 MK2 in 0.177, I've had it for years and am very pleased with it. On the downside, loading is a bit fussy and it is heavy. It shoots so well I forgive it these faults.
