Tug
How did you manage to find such a nice stock on a silver pigeon s? Pure luck First place I looked in, first gun I shouldered and it just felt right. Tried a few others but came back to the Beretta. Just to make you sick, that is it when I first got it home - the stripes are even more prominent after a coat of CCL Here's a couple of pictures after the oil... Carbonrocket
How do they do the tiger striping? It is against the grain. If it was done on a first coat I would think the stain would etch left/right with the grain. My guess is that it is either A first coat with quite sticky heavy stain but then quickly wiped clean allowed to dry then further coats applied. Or my amatur guess a light first coat rubbed clean then the striping with thick oil for a few minutes then wiped off and further coats after. Am I right or wrong? Stock masters please respond with your deep secrets. Edited December 10, 2008 by Carbonrocket

Tug
Well seeing as we're sharing: Weihrauch HW100 .177 - my primary hunting gun, also used for HFT (both times I've been!) With as much of the black shiny stuff covered up: In complete "ambush" mode: My AA S410 .22 - now my back up gun and ratter. It used to look like this in the summer, before I switched to a proper calibre for rabbits! Along with my S410, two rifles I have sold on to fund bigger and better things. AA TX200HC and a Webley FX2000.

chrispti
Nice wee gun there mate Just a question is it heavy, and does the silencer make a difference? Cheers GM It weighs just over 7lbs, not too badly balanced either. The mod does make a difference, it works best with subsonic loads obviously, so Saddlery and gunroom have had a subsonic game load made up from gamebore (32g 5s) which work very well. Imperfection
Decided to treat myself to a new gun today as a belated chrimbo prezzie.I bought a secondhand Lanber 12g O/U with 29.5" barrells & 3" chambers. Its got one or two scratches in the wood, but everything else feels like new and cost me £299.I bought it for rough shooting cos much as i like my Escort semiauto for static pigeon shooting-im fed up with trying to find ejected cartridges in long grass and hedges etc.I wont get rid of the Escort cos i do also like having three shots!
