Sean Richo
Went today to buy some Black Gold which I have been using on some walked up days and driven days and they where out of stock. I asked for a similar cartridge of the same quality I was recommended Proper Cartridges he said they where very good so bought 250 for £50. Got them home and opened them up the packaging does not seem to be of the quality of some of the other brands suppose this doesn't mean to much. Anybody used them I got 32 grams 6? Sean Richo
Does that mean they will be good on pheasant?
kdubya
proper carts are good, very good in fact but I thought he (George) only did 30g in a 6, 32g in a 5 (snipe) KW
maxus77
bought a fair few slabs of the "all rounder" 32g 6's and found them really good onto my last 60 carts so will take a look at the snipes or back to clear pigeons depending on price
anser2
I have used a lot Proper Pigeon cartridges . They are ok as a standard cartridge but not in the same class as Black Gold or Eley VIP for long range shots.
Jesse James
I have been using them for about 3 months now and must have gone through about 600 so far with no issues. and today funny enough I thought I would take a closer look inside the cartridge compared to the Hull super fast. I bought a Digital microscope. I was shocked at my findings to be honest. I bought and used a Digital microscope which plugs into laptop (ebay £19.00) and thought i would take a look at these CHEAP cartridges. The lead shot from the proper cartridge was very clean, round and almost looked like they were shinny silver balls. The shot from the more expensive Hull cartridges were not uniformed nor 100% spherical and 12 "Balls" were very dull, not at all round and not polished like some of the others also these were no way near as shinny or like silver as the proper cartridges lead shot. I thought that if you pay more you get better, this is not the case from my views of the shot, plastic wad. Maybe your paying more for powder then.... I will put some pictures up lee Edited November 22, 2013 by Jesse James

figgy
I used quite a few proper snipe cartridges and still have a couple of boxes left. Very good game cartridges. The Little Devils were good clay cartridges when you could get them. Figgy

anser2
Proper cartridges should not be used for duck or geese in England. They are not non toxic.

figgy
If you've tried good steel carts you will knock the same stuff down with them. I now prefer the Gambore steel than lead for fowling. Figgy

Azzurri
I used some of the Abt (Trap Cartridges) on clays a couple of years ago and in all honesty they were the best thing i've ever used....anyone who knows me will know I don't hype or b.s. they really were that good. The only reason I stopped using them was they had no C.I.P proof mark on the packaging. I don't know if this was an oversight or what on the manufacturers part but i'd prefer to use something that carried proof marks. Azzurri. I concur, used a few clay shells a while back and they were as good as they come and the innards looked identical to Hull Sovereigns save for the shot being somewhat dull in the Hulls. The only reason I can't use them regularly is lack of supplies.

Gordon R
Phoned them today. They tell me that Proper Cartridges only manufacture game shells - plastic wad 6s or 5s. As I only shoot clays , I won't be sampling them.
