steve_b_wales
I've got the NiteSearcher, which is similar, but has a bigger lens. Excellent for foxing.

Yea massively, 250 meters maybe...was watching a fox on Saturday night must of been 240/260 ish meters away just sniffing around...nearly shot a fox Sunday night at 180 meters and could see it clear as day with the red LED.. It ran off tho and only looked back for a fraction of a second and didn't give me long enough to shoot..

If, however, you know that you'll be shooting at or a greater range than the one which you mention, your cheaper option may be to try the yellow LED. I've found that this has virtually the same range as the white but the harsh glare is considerably reduced and the fox doesn't seem to be startled by this at the longer distance. I have the X searcher and can see to shoot as far as I ever will with the red LED but now favour the yellow unless I'm ambushing in one of the smaller fields. al4x
has any one got one are they worth the money will be used for fox sitting in the high seats cheers phil Yes they are very good, I'm not sure about high seat use but they do give an excellent beam and range and last a fair while. I use mine with ir from seats a lot but spot with night vision then I can keep the nm mounted on the rifle

Part of the problem I have is that my scope could have better glass, so I can see the foxes eyes ok at 200 (I know not to shoot at eyes) but I can't make out the body clearly. I would be confident enough taking a fox at 200+ but obviously it is important to 100% ID. I might look at the yellow LED. Yea massively, 250 meters maybe...was watching a fox on Saturday night must of been 240/260 ish meters away just sniffing around...nearly shot a fox Sunday night at 180 meters and could see it clear as day with the red LED.. mick miller
I don't think the red is three mode, at least mine isn't. IR and white leds are three mode though.

Thedeerman
We have two of them, one in red and one in green envy. Also have a white pill. Green envy is incredibly bright, we've only just got this. Two colours of light is handy to have. If it won't hold with green, switch to red. I found the red can be difficult to shoot with much past 150, but you do get used to it. shot one tonight with red at about 180. I reckon with the green envy you could easily manage 250+ Edited January 10, 2014 by zeff1357
