marcus94
What ear defenders do people use? Wanting a pair of electronic ones
Been
I find the big over the ears electronic ones tend to get in the way ( ie ) rest/hit the stock . try these www.auritech.info/products/shoot/
JohnFreeman1310
I use the squishy pink and yellow foam ones haha cheap and work great. Edited February 6, 2014 by JohnFreeman1310

NeverReady
I've got a set of Deben ones and can't fault them at all... http://www.deben.com/hearing-protection/deben-electronic-ear-defenders-black.html Picked them up from ebay for around £70 about 6 years ago
bang bang birdy
I asked the same question on here a month ago, I ended up getting some Howard Leight impact sport off of amazon, which most people recommend to me. I am very happy with them. Have worn them on two beaters shoots and had them on for most of the day on both occasion and did not even notice them. If you turn the volume right up it like having super hearing powers
rogcal
I ended up getting some Howard Leight impact sport off of amazon I've just ordered a pair from Amazon as I've just started shooting clays again after a 45 year break and I was wondering how they perform when subjected to a continuous noise. I ask this as my latest ride on mower (a Kubota) seems to leave me with dulled hearing for a few hours following a two hour stint of grass cutting and I'm hoping that these defenders will be just as affective as they are reported to be when used for shooting. The spec says they kick in at anything over 87db and as my Kubota registers about 110db at 1 metre distance, it's fingers crossed! tomblincoe
Just use them turned off when mowing the lawn! you have no need of the amplification side of things and they still work as passive ear defenders when switched off... kiffy
this is a topic ive noted coming up so often, one i asked myself a year or so ago and each time the questions asked howard leights come up... i got myself a pair and love them, work perfectly not to big as to hit the stock, comfortable to wear for extended periods, great battery life (still on my first set) and the price is pretty damn good
OddJob
I've got the MSA Sordin model. Not cheap but better than the Deben and other derivatives. They don't just cut all sound as the cheaper ones do. This means that a gun going off mid conversation is just limited to the 80db level so you can hear the rest of the conversation rather than it going totally quiet. Greg.L
Another vote for Howard Leight impact sport. Got mine a couple of weeks ago after reading recommendations on here. Do exactly what is needed and are very comfortable as others have said its easy to forget you have them on!

Chris 1985
In case anyone's interested there's an offer in the February issue of The Field, where if you subscribe by direct debit (£21.99 every six months), they'll send you a free pair of the Howard Leight Impact Sport ear defenders. Only thing is, you've got to sign up by the 28th Feb!

Is there a link or code you need to use? Cheers! Dave
