billytheghillie
On my fac I am entitled to hold 500 rounds and purchase 400. (.22) It would be easier and cheaper to buy 500 at a time. Question is, I am about to move house and therefore send my ticket in for change of address, can I also put a note in to ask them to change my entitlement? cheers

activeviii
Most area's have changed in that its only a hold quantity on the new fac and no purchase quantity. Just to be safe say you with to buy bulk with same batch numbers to aid consistency's. If you look at the fac guildlines I seam to remember something about 2000 rounds to hold on rimfire. Look it up and quout it to them in a cover letter.
TaxiDriver
To the OP, Can you maybe ask to be able to purchase/hold more owing to how far you have to travel to keep purchasing smaller amounts ?
Imperfection
Just ask them to up your limit to 600 as this is the usual amount for rimfire.Or if they wont, buy 400 then walk out of the shop then go back in for the remaining 100.Provided its written in two seperate transactions you've done everything what they specified on your certificate. You are then at least sticking to the rules?
CharlieT
The recommended standard .22rf allowance is: hold = 750 & buy = 500. Just ask for those.
marktattoo
If you use a fair amount of ammunition and had your fac a while ask, they can only say no, I asked as I had 600 hold 500 buy but had it increased to 1500 hold and 1000 buy as I use quiet a bit of ammunition which could be proved. Amazed
The recommended standard .22rf allowance is: hold = 750 & buy = 500. Just ask for those. That's exactly what I have. But am under the impression we no longer have to specify how much we wish to acquire just what we wish to hold. Is this set in stone yet or will they just get round to it ? Karl. Muddy Funker
Just got my cert back from a variation and it now just has max quantity to be possessed at any one time. And is that max quantity more than what you were originally allowed to hold?
Dekers
Times are changing but frankly I suspect you are bound by what your FAC actually says. Ask anyway, and see what happens, (this is a free variation so no cost issue) you will almost certainly get a new style FAC when yours comes back with the new address! xxx.Morph.xxx
My initial grant was for 1000/1200 Buy & Hold .22rimfire, after 6 months I asked to increase to 2000/3000 for batch consistency & this was granted without issue. West Mids/Staffordshire licencing if it helps.
bornfree
And is that max quantity more than what you were originally allowed to hold? bluesj
If you have a good tame RFD they may hold ammo for you if you use enough. My local one will as it helps him as well so if i put in an order for 1000 he can get a bit better deal and put 500 at a time on my ticket. so I try to put an order in for what me my son and a mate will use in a year. We pick up what we can and he holds the rest, We get it at cost and he gets a better deal for His stock.
