The thing I hate is the attachment I feel for these little guys. Once an animal puts it's faith in me I really struggle to harm them. It just feels wrong.

I will always remember a nice roe buck on one of my shoots. He was left as he was such a tidy animal for breeding and he slowly came around to the idea that people wouldn't bother him. I found him one day looking badly hurt, I think he'd been hit by a car. I took the shot at around 25 yards and then cried... I've been less upset over losing relatives!

When it comes to Sqizzers the REDS win every time! I would not think twice, shooting a grey if a safe legal oppertunity arose! Garden visitor or not!

I know what you mean the magpies are always stealing the shiny black pebbles from my plants and dropping them all over the drive but are fun to watch some days chasing greys in the garden I couldn't shoot them they don't have the instinct to hide there just nosey lol.

I had the same chaps, had a squirrel in the garden whom I called Bob. I always vowed that if he ever got closer than the washing line ill pop him off.... Yup, after a few months we had a 'Bob pie'. I felt terrible pulling the trigger but I've had squirrels in the loft before.
