silver pigeon 3
We had similar on our flight pond, 2 hoppers thrown in the water and another carried half a mile towards the track and then dumped in the hedge. Mindless idiots!
Sha Bu Le
There was an earlier post on the same subject, the guys with the hoppers put trail cams up and got pictures of good quality that allowed the perp' to be identified. The thief was taken to court and was found guilty, don't know what the sentence was. So trail cams as suggested could well be the way forward. You might get your old hoppers back or with a prosecution, you may get a guilt admission and compensation to buy replacements.

Westley
I know that this is a bit 'stable door' but, having decided upon the location of your feeder, can I suggest you make it less attractive to the humanoid magpies. I used anti climb (vandal variety) paint on the outside of our feeders. This stopped them from being removed by the anti shooting brigade. Another Keeper that I know used some old axle grease on the outside of his feeders which put a stop to his being overturned.

Yes i guess i will have to do something dont think i will use old axle grease though it might put the pheasants off from eating out of it dont you think . michufc
Vandalism was happening all the time on a shoot near me and the keeper stayed out until and caught the lad who did it and once he got to the bottom of it he had a problem with the land owner who had said no to him to shoot so rather than going to the police his parents paid damages to the shoot

Not if you are using the 'spring' type dispensers in the base of the drum.
