Stolen feed hoppers

There was an earlier post on the same subject, the guys with the hoppers put trail cams up and got pictures of good quality that allowed the perp' to be identified.

The thief was taken to court and was found guilty, don't know what the sentence was.

So trail cams as suggested could well be the way forward.

I know that this is a bit 'stable door' but, having decided upon the location of your feeder, can I suggest you make it less attractive to the humanoid magpies. I used anti climb (vandal variety) paint on the outside of our feeders. This stopped them from being removed by the anti shooting brigade. Another Keeper that I know used some old axle grease on the outside of his feeders which put a stop to his being overturned.

Vandalism was happening all the time on a shoot near me and the keeper stayed out until and caught the lad who did it and once he got to the bottom of it he had a problem with the land owner who had said no to him to shoot so rather than going to the police his parents paid damages to the shoot
