splitstop63
Nearing the end of a face lift on my 1963 split screen camper ive owned it 7 years and Love it with a passion!!! Being a Bit Slow as they are 30 bhp decide to make it a Sleeper a Wolf in Sheeps clothing as with all old Motors i got sick and tired of being on the back of the AA Truck more often than not so decided to ditch the old tired vw motor and opt for a 300 bhp Subaru Turbo that means i can also have a heater Happy Days i miss the traffic light grand prix and now i'm getting on i want to annihilate a few chavs a just leve 2 Big Black rubber lines off the lights few rolling burnouts Santa pod of Course ya know what im talking about recapture my youth but this time have a cooker so when my misses thongs blow east or west at the traffic lights she can cook me a dinner when we park up After the install of the engine i am getting the old Girl completely resprayed having the front beam narrowed a bit of Nip and tuck and adding porsche alloys and going to finally smack it with the Lowering Stick for Good measure also changing the front seat set up to a Full bench seat Jesus will still be My Airbag as seat belts did not become law till 1965 hence me buying a 1963 cus i hate em ive got an exemption from wearing one any way the joys of spondylitis of the spine and neck but this does have this Advantage i can not upload images it says they are too big sorry soon as its finished i will be looking at selling my everyday run about little peugeot van 1.9d which i have used as my parts hauler and looking for a land rover 90 as always fancyd one of them ideal for getting on the shoot where i go oh well thats about it for now wish me luck and happy camping lol all the best Nick

FarmerSim
An interesting project, but we NEED pics !! dependent on your computer OS,there are quite a few programs out there which can be sued to resize picture files, google will find you something for free. I have a pal running windoze who uses irfanview, and, IIRC, that can do resizing, and is free, and very good too.... post up your OS, and someone will help out.... la bala
If you have done all that with Spondylitis, very well done. I have a relative who has it, and he is limited to what he can do. pics would be good.
Lord Geordie
I remember a program on TV a little while back, where a chap had a custom spray on his Camper! The spray made the car LOOK rusty Porsche engined and lay in wait for the kids to mock him! Then he would leave them in a cloud of dust at the lights  Bit like my Audi 80 back in the early 90s. It was a 1980s car 1.6i and I saw off a friends 2.0 cavy. He scoffed at the car when he first saw it! When he saw what it was capable of,.HE wanted to drive it but BEST of all, was my AP50 moped! Modded to the hilt. Big bore head and piston. Race clutch, ported head, derestricted exhaust! My friend asked for a quick go, thinking it was just a 25mph jobby. He got on and fired it up, Yeah elec start too wound it on and the thing SHOT off so fast it flipped  He held on like a nutter as it dragged him a good 20 yards along the tarmac Skinned his hands, arms and legs quite badly but by GOD he never laughed about that scoot again! Scully
A bloke I know who lives just around the corner is a bit of a mechanical wiz and tales in VW camper vans and totally rebuilds them for various people. He always replaces the original engines with Subaru engines like you have done. One he built was featured in one of the mainstream magazines some years ago. He also has two Hillman Avengers; one an estate which he uses as his daily runabout, and another which is the rally prepared model with the bright yellow/orange paintwork etc. (sorry don't know the details!). Twistedsanity
Sounds like a cool bus, I worked with a bunch up Cambridge way ( TS drag racers I think) about 10years back who made their living fitting scooby lumps into beetles and campers , I used to run a nitrous company and made them go even faster!
