Wow that is am excellent score, some of the better guns in the country would struggle to achieve that score, well done

If you are getting those scores why change the gun.... it works for you and accepted by the club. A few of the guys I shoot clays with use semis and some have camo and they are treated the same as everyone else... yes we do rib them every now and then but that goes for everyone.

Bettinsoli Diamond is a nice gun as long as it fits but if buying new I would imagine the RFD will make sure it does.

I did sort of cheat on the clays as shot the same easy stands the one's i was hitting with out to much of a problem  but as was my first time thought i'd give myself as easy a time as poss plus it was very bussy & did not want to look like a right numpty  .

Ive got one... bought it new about a month or so ago and have been out and done about 150 clays every weekend since and can't fault it so far. I bought it new and looked at a few other guns for the same money and in my opinion this seemed the best put together out of what i saw.

For the price i payed i think it represents good value and if you can get a good condition secondhand one then all the better.

I had the same advice about buying a secondhand browning or beretta but i unfortunatly couldn't find anything for that price in my area with the same spec of gun.... i don't yet regret buying the bettinsoli and am still yet to see anything come up secondhand nearby that id rather have bought.

Would i rather have a silver pigeon or 525? Sure, but a good second hand or new one are nearly twice the price i paid for the bettinsoli.

It's the same old story from the three big makes Browning, Beretta or Miroku owners, You spend the money so you must have a better gun, It's a load of cobblers,

If they just judged the workmanship and quality of the lesser known guns, they would probably find little or no difference, just gun importers who don't spend a fortune advertising and keep their costs down enabling them to sell at well below the three named makes

Go back 20 years and they may have had a fair point but not nowdays

Spend the money on a used Miroku / Browning or Beretta. You will have a far, far better gun which will last and retain more value.

I see the attraction of the bettinsoli always stand out on dealer racks, very pretty guns. Try before you buy and dont be in a rush to buy

Have a look at the number of sub £1000 Beretta on guntrader

I make the percentage loss about the same for most makes of gun, the higher resell price does not really stand up apart from a few exceptions of all guns. They all loose about the same

Trade in prices depend more on what the gunshop wants to move a gun, so quite large variations can happen on all trade up's regardless of make

my mate purchased a diamond grade one last year £800 I think was offered £450 part x ,

I purchased a berretta a400 xtream £1800 new was offerd £1000 trade in I loose more .

Not like for like and we are suggesting buying used B/B/M not new (over budget) 20% hit on walking out the shop realistically. Trade in price is one thing (not accurate as some dealars inflate PX to sell the new unit, some deflate it to maximise profit) but if you keep a gun for 5 years depreciation isn't that big on any, keep it for 5 weeks and its painful, need to sell in a rush you will loose money, wait for a good price you'll probably get it.

I have one, got it last may, spent a serious summer pigeon shooting, 250 carts a week and it was faultless, used it all winter game shooting and roosting so had plenty of use with no issues. Yes its a cheaper gun, and if you a extra picky you can tell but personally i dont think it can be beaten for the price!

I wouldn't feel out of place with a camo semi auto mate who cares what the others think, I shoot different guns but often take my camo escort as I shoot well with it, I had one guy come and tell me all semi autos should be banned I just laughed and carried on shooting. I shoot for a laugh and to enjoy myself im even saving for a tactical revo just for clays, why because I want one despite what others would recommend, get whatever gun you really want not what others are shooting.
