ulsterman
Hi took my sak apart for the first time couldn't believe the amount of c**p that was inside so if you use one A. How often do you clean it. B. How do you go about it. C.What do you use to clean it. Thanks
Albert 888
Have one on the 22rf,Tried allsorts with mine, lastime I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner with boiling hot water and citric acid 50/50 mix that cleaned it but removed all the paint. A bronze brush also works. Only clean when my shooting goes a miss. Think I have cleaned it around 4 time in around 5000 bullets. I guess the more often you clean it the better the build up will come off. Good luck.
steve_b_wales
I read that after many 100's of rounds have been put through it, to just soak the whole lot in paraffin for 24hrs.

telf
i have a dm80 on my .22s and usually clean them in soapy water every 75 rounds ish,a while back i didnt clean it for about 2-300 rounds and the carbon build up inside the mod was solid at one point, namely just past the muzzle,i managed to get it out ,but lesson learned
casts_by_fly
When i was shooting it on my 22 with dirty subs i would use some wd40 on a papertowel to wipe the crud out, but, not so far as to brush it or scrub it. Just clean the threads so it is easy to get on and off. No issues with the hornet and sak. Rick

Dekers
My centrefire mods get stripped and cleaned after every use, but my collection of SAKs don't get a lot of attention really. My .22lr SAKs get a bashing on an old telephone directory to knock out any lose build up, usually a bit, but that doesn't happen in the same way with the WMR. Other than threads and externally my SAKs don't actually get a whole load of attention! Edited March 20, 2014 by Dekers
Daz1986
I have the sak mod on my .22lr and I clean once I notice or think noise levels rise. I strip mine, cover in wd40, get my wire brush out and scrub. This come up clean. Then let her dry out and realise it works better. Break cleaner is also good. cooter
When I feel it's time to clean the mod I leave it in soapy water for as long as I think it needs it to soften up the carbon, then strip and clean it. Still working fine after years of using this method. A little carbon in the .22lr SAK is a good thing as it seals it all up.

Daz1986
There is a small Allen key screw in it. Take it out, and the centre will come out ( might be stif)

Dekers
how do you strip it? http://www.ouluntyostokeskus.com/New/supprimfire.shtml Video from the manufacturer, very simple, but never quite as easy if it has been a long time since you unscrewed it.
